The grammatical error in my option 1 on the poll.

Exactly it's the only fair time to do so. The same applies for judging us as impending title winners after a flying start to the season. Football fans just dont have any patience these days.

Whilst I agree with your sentiments in general, it is precisely because I do have patience that I'm going for the risk-adverse option. We are clearly in a transitional phase & I am prepared to ride a poorer season for the longer-term good.

You aren't guilty of lacking patience then, but you are perhaps guilty of the knee-jerk reactions we were talking about earlier. We aren't nearly as bad a side as your poll would indicate you think we are.

Hmm, not sure on that either. I look at how competitive the league will be this season & I've made the decision based on a number of poor results, whilst fully acknowledging the mitigating factors behind those & without laying excessive & reactionary blame on the managers or players. Simply because an opinion doesnt agree with yours/ could be perceived as negative does not necessitate it to be reactionary, Pabbers.

The point is that our extensive injury list isnt going to be sorted overnight & whilst City havent accelerated too far ahead of us, we are somewhat adrift of the other 3 & I fear that gap might widen before we regain form.

At the same time, we do have a hell of a lot of quality to come back, plus the new method (sans Alonso, more attacking FBs) of playing will eventually click. As such, I expect a very strong end to the season & I think that would leave us in a good postion for the chase for 4th/UEFA Cup. I just think that the return to form might come too late for another 2nd or 3rd place finish & semi-final, that is all.

Of course, I'll be more than happy to be proven wrong.
