Tonight summed him up completely for me. Absolutely brilliant goal but then wasted an easier chance to kill the game. Have to say though, would rather pick him than Voronin.

The Lucas finish was an ideal height for the keeper, he only had to stick his arm out. Higher or lower and he would have scored for sure. But it was nil nil at that stage, so even if he had scored there is nothing to say we would have still won.Originally posted by lackyboy View Post

Lucas was not the problem tonight. Ideally we wouldn't have played with him and Masch together (I think we're too square in midfield when that happens), but given injuries etc we had little choice and Lucas was one of the better players we had on the pitch.
Babel has ability, but he just does not have a footballing brain imo.I could not dig, I dared not rob:

Kuyt and Benayoun have always made an effort, Lucas was a bottler at the start of last season. Only an idiot would criticise a player for making an effort, and all three of those work their nads off regularly.
