Voronin I agree we shouldn't have with us now. However, again, when did we have the money to replace Keane? Bearing that in mind I'm not sure we'd have anyone of massive step up in quality playing instead. N'gog / Nemeth maybe? It's all much of a muchness, none of them should be first port of call if Nando needs replacing or we want a second striker on.

The people who say it's not good enough we haven't brought in quality in certain positions are the same people that whinged about us signing a handful of players like Bellamy or Riera when we could've had long term first teamers like Johnson or Aquilani. We can't have our cake and eat it. Rafa spent the bulk of his pitiful budget on a couple of top notch players and injuries plus poor form have meant that's hurt us in a way it otherwise wouldn't.

It's a mirror image of the back end of Houllier's reign.

Only difference is, Gerrard isn't fit enough to drag us to fourth place...

It's absolutely nothing like that. We had 18 months of being **** under Houllier before he went. Some people forget the absolute crap we endured at the end. We've had a seriously **** spell. But at the moment there's nothing to say we cannot recover under Rafa and until there is I refuse to draw that comparison.

There's so many trolls in here. Yes we are frustrated but the lads have put a great performance. Defensively we were good, we should have scored as we had at least 4 clear chances. It's a bit of a shame that we conceded so late but we shouldn't point the blame at them. We're back on track if we put in more performances like that. We played Lyon off the park on their own patch and we should be proud of it.

It wasn't a great performance it was a normal top 6 PREM LEAGUE performance, WE ARE LIVERPOOL, WE HAVE TO BE BETTER THAN HALF THAT TEAM TONGHT,IT SERIOUSLY SADDENS ME

Agreed, thought there were some great performances and a great team effort there. But for an unfit Torres and an unworthy Voronin we would have trounced them. Kyriagos had a very good game against Govou and only tiredness at the end saw him falter. Same with Agger to some respect.

Its a mirror image of houlliers last season! Letting hyppia go and not signing a striker this summer has cost us no end. I dont include Alonso as he wanted to go and we had no choice but **** me going into this season with only torres as a main striker. Gutted.
