Liverpool v Birmingham Post Match Thread

    First half cost us.

Lacked a cutting edge, point from a dive.

Need to be much, much better to have ANY chance of making the top four.

    Simply not good enough.

We're slowly moving out of our rut though, two games no defeats.

A top team leading 1-0 at home against ****e should never ever ever ever... ever concede such a soft goal like we did.

We have the softest defence in the league. It is absolutely **** for some reason. Our set piece defending is comical. Skrtel has been an absolute nightmare this season.

We would have cruised to 4/5-0 had we not conceded such a soft goal. This is what top teams do, score the first and cruise it. Not us. Never us.

And looks like Riera and Benny out now

**** Riera at the moment, but Benayoun is vital to us since 2nd half of last season.

Aquilani is going to have to hit the ground running.
This streak of poor results is never-ending, someone has a voodoo of the whole team or something.

11 points behind the Chavs at the beginning of November, ****.

Kuyt was really poor tonight. Time to give him a rest if we've got enough players to do so.

Ah **** sake man, Birmingham ****ing Birmingham at home and you seem satisfied with a point. What in the good ****.

Defence is a shambles. Johnson and Insua offer very little defensively, with the latter offering as little going forward. What a sh1t result. Benitez seems to be throwing on players to keep the fans onside more than anything else.

As Shaggy said in the other thread, I feel football is ruining me too this season. I've got an exam in 3 hours and I haven't ****ing slept the whole night, watched the match and was a bag of nerves.

We are crying out for another striker and a center back that can command the defence like sami use to.

Like i said in the match thread all the strikers we have had under rafa this is by far the worst line up we have had going back to souness. Torres not included of course.

He should have been given a bit longer than he got, a few minutes against ****e like Birmingham is not enough, no way near enough!

International break with the majority of the players can only do the team good. Birmingham's defending caused our attack huge problems in the second half with their rigidity and solidarity and it's these moments which define our season.

Ultimately, if you can't break teams down at this level against below par teams, you don't deserve the points.

Skrtel, Insua and Kuyt really ****ed me off tonight.

Satisfied? Not at all but we have to take the positives. Too many slitting of wrists on here. We played well, albeit conceded absolutely two stupid goals.

                              defensively we're appalling.
and as soon as we concede you can see the heads drop. takes too long to recover.
it's strange really, since rafa's taken over our strenghth was to collectively defend and not give goals away let alone soft ones.
