Aye, the takeover has been a bit of a disaster all things considered, and especially compared to what we all expected a takeover once it came to achieve.

If I remember, it was suggested that changes in the training had contributed.
Meijer was a houllier buy, nothing to do with Souness.

Goals conceded are our major problem this year and i guess you would have to look at a new right back, inexperienced left back and ever changing central defence pairing for the answer.

Totally disagree. The back four and team as a whole is nervous at the back because they lack confidence that comes with getting results. As soon as we start winning again you'll see less set pieces and other types of goals conceded.

I've played for teams before where you know that if you concede a goal there is slim chance of winning due to the team being rubbish in attack, the defence can get pretty nervy. If you know your team will score goals and come back from set backs then it's the complete opposite. You are more relaxed and play to a much better standard.

The Aquilani buy was always going to be a gamble and we would have been fine had other areas been sorted out. With a full squad we could may have played Gerrard in CM and the new striker and Torres up top.

When Torres has needed rest we could have done so and played the new striker up top. Torres would be in much better condition now had we been in a position to rest him. Same goes for Stevie G. Rushed back because we had no option but to gamble.
In essence i agree with you DannyMan2006 - but we all know (and love) the way Rafa wants is for Stevie to play slightly behind Nando, any other second striker is always going to play second fiddle to this formation.

Maybe this is why we haven't been able to attract a top class striker in the summer?

Stevie in CM with Nando and AN Other has not proven to be as successful as those two up front.

Maybe the answer is how we can accomodate Nando, SG and a potential new No 7?

Personally, I think David Villa is the glaring solution, but will the Yank Cunts see this?

What do the rest of you think?

Gerrard played CM against Hull and Burnley iirc...........

And of course we'd all like David Villa. Him and Torres up top, stick Stevie on the right, Yossi on the left and Mascher and Aqua in CM. Have some of that.
