    £50m?!

Yet Torres can score more in 30 games than most players can score in 45-50 games.

    **** me

You could rebuild the squad with 100 million. Spent correctly that's FIVE world class players.

And Torres, despite being the best striker in the world, is injured a lot.
That he is............. If I could see in a crystal ball and no he would always be injury prone I would sell him without a moments hesitation for such a massive fee.

Only problem is I can not. And for all we know we could end up spending £100m on complete ****e. When factoring wages into the equation it is not 5 £20m players, maybe 4 at the most. And we would likely have to spend £40m on a player to fill the void left by Torres up front, if we could attract anyone in the top class bracket after selling one of our best players.

So we would end up with 2 £20m gambles and one £40m gamble on a top class striker - say Aguero or Villa. Both great players but would they settle?
        Forwards.......

You need your star man to be playing more than 30 games. There is no point in having a great player who can only play half of the games available in a season. What happens in the other games?

I wouldn't sell him mind, his injuries may clear up after this year. He just needs another top class forward to come in so he can be rested from time to time.
          Forwards.......

The more I see of Ngog the more I think we needn't worry about finishing, Ngog pretty much looks ready to properly deputise for the great one.

It's creation of chances, and bloody defending were we're really struggling.

Give Ngog chances and he'll put the majority away.

The question is just plain embarrasing.

For a Liverpool fan to even think of selling our best player is crazy let alone linking it with getting rid of the manager as well.

              I'm saddened by this thread

If it's a wind up then it's not very funny but if you're for real then you are indeed a fool.

The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

                        " this ****"?

So Torres, will leave because of a bad run? Then frankly if that's his attitude, which it isn't, then I wouldn't want him.

I'd suggest you read some of Torres' quotes before you come in with that type of ill-informed hype.

And to answer the original question: why would we possible consider selling our prize asset under any circumstances and particularly to get rid of a proven world class coach, in the middle of the season? The question's a stupid one and if we did it, then it wouldn't just be Torres who'd be off imo.

But you can buy world class for 20 million pounds. Johnson and Aquilani were both under 20 million for a start.
I wouldn't allow you to be LFC manager then!

Plus neither of those players are World Class...

N'gog's done well, but full time deputy for Torres? No way. I can't see him scoring half the types of goal Torres' does.

He has a long way to go before I'd sell Torres to let N'gog step up.

No he can't score goals the way Torres does - but then who can?

If we have a team which is cohesive, were the midfield is firing and the fullbacks are providing width then I believe we would create more chances.

And from what I've seen of Ngog he is a good finisher, so I don't think we'd really struggle to score goals.

I'm not totally disagreeing with you. The issue I had was that you intimated he is ready to deputise for Torres full time. He isn't imo. In fact there's no one I'd replace Torres with at the mo.
