I'm going mainly because I want to see Aquilani get a decent run out.

Maybe we'll announce that Aquilani will start in a bid to ensure a full house
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

with people out of work, christmas coming up, we're out of the competition and the fact we are boring to watch, I think it'd be more than fair to expect a few empty seats.

I don't think empty seats would reflect badly on the club as a whole. Its life.

Man. Utd have been playing boring football all of last year and the start of this season yet people say nothing. We have been playing the best football of any team last season.

This season is a freak. We're very low on confidence and this shows in matches.

well you and me must have very different views of what good football is my friend. when I think of last season I can't but think of the struggles against everton, lame dropping of points at home and the failing at middlesbrough above the few highlights that were the purple patch in beating madrid and utd. It was a good season but the football was average most of the time.

And ignore the fact that we finished top scorers...not bad for a team that can't play good football eh? But for a few dodgy results in the first half the season we would have...and should have...won the league.

It wasn't the first half of the season it went wrong, it was the half way point, when we were getting knocked out of the cup by everton and drawing in the league with them and playing **** dire one dimensional football.

Regardless of the goals we scored in certain games, the way we play means we're so predictable and easy to shut out in the games we need to win. Thats why we drew so many last season. When we score early we bang in 3 or 4. When we fail to get that early break we struggle. No plan b.

I blame that Alonso for all those draws...after all,h'es the creative spark that we're missing so much this season, so he must be responsible for our inability to break down stubborn resistance that dogged our games last season, especially at Anfield.

We played the better football of all the teams last season, there is no disputing that fact. A one dimensional team never scores as much goals as we scored last season, and if only we'd scored most of those goals via set pieces, but they were not.

Winning the league is all about fine points and we blew it around Christmas, but to be fair to us, United are a team full of experience and they know how to grind out results. This told in the end.

We also need luck to win the league.

agreed we never have any of that. those early games where we pulled victories from the jaws of defeat such as Boro at home had no luck involved at all?

Don't get me wrong, I thought last season was a decent enough season. But I don't need people to try and explain away what I saw week in week out with my own eyes. Perhaps I just expect more.
