Keep living in the past. I couldn't care what we've won - it's the present and future that I'm more worried about. And Rafa is the main reason why I'm worried - not the owners but the manager. That is my opinion and I respect your opinions on backing Rafa. But I don't see the logic in pointing to past glories. My kebab comes with chilli sauce

It is nice that we work hard and defend with men but we don't have anything when going on counter attack. Gerrard and N'Gog are only one who have some kind of pace and both are sitting on our own penalty area.
And we do need creative spark to midfield, with ball playing midfielder we don't have need for two breaking players.

It's getting to the point now where i'm just expecting us not to win. I'm sure i'm not the only one either.
We're a club in crisis. A complete shambles and a laughing stock.
It's painful."Let me say for the record, I am not a gangster and never have been. Im not the thief who grabs your purse. Im not the guy who jacks your car. Im not down with the people who steal and hurt others. Im just a brother who fight back."

Well fair enough if that's your opinion. But I think our past glories and our traditions is what makes Liverpool a great club, rather than an average one like Chelsea and Man City.Originally posted by saj View PostKeep living in the past. A club should never rest on it's laurels and the fact we never have is why we have so many trophies. But they should still be looked upon with a great sense of pride.Forwards.......

Dont worry i wont because i have seen plenty of games this season to know what we play like.Originally posted by banditos View PostActually rafa made a sub after 50 mins today!!!! (Ngog on for the anonomys Riera) which lead to us bossing most of the second half. But don't let the fact that you didn't watch the game at all interfere with forming an opinion

first time in a long while, even after the everton game, that i didnt give a sh1t about a match.
thought i'd wait for the final score rather than getting up for it and excited about a match and the chance for 3 points and a gap closed.
as the first post said, it really isnt good enough. everyone at our club needs a long hard look at themselves. if rafa's playing games then fook him. if the players can't be arsed then fook them. if the owners are dicking about saying they want torres sold to bring the stadium forward then double fook them.
what a load of sh1t

As Yaz would say, "The only way is up" except that the way we're going...
On the plus side, as I've said before - we're in crisis and in the top seven-eight. It could be a lot worse, but I doubt it well get so.
I think rafa's problem is that he commoditises talent. It's fine if you have very talented players who can play to a system and still show specks of brilliance, but when you have very ordinary players all you get is a rigid system.
For me that's what he lacks - that and some risk taking. To be fair though, I remember the Houllier days when we didn't take risks and were significantly ****ter than we are now.
People seem to forget that 6th-7th with a hope of 4th was normal then.Really?

Rafa after todays game:
"I'm a little bit frustrated," said Benitez "I felt we could win the game.
"In the first half we didn't play very well but it was a difficult match. They were very direct and we were expecting that.
"After that we changed it with Ngog in attack and Nabil (El Zhar). We were more dangerous and had chances to win. They also had two counter attacks which could have seen us lose. But I think the team played much better in the second half.
"It is a clean sheet and we played better football than the other day, so we are improving, but you have to win these types of games. We had chances, but you need to score from them if you want to win matches."
Benitez admitted he was surprised to see Ngog's close range effort come back off the crossbar, but he was impressed by the impact of Ngog and his fellow substitute Nabil El Zhar.
Convinced
"I was convinced it was a goal and after that Kuyt had the rebound but it was well blocked," added Benitez.
"We were disappointed but in the last minute we nearly conceded a goal. This is football.
"I was pleased with Ngog and Nabil did well when he came on. Hopefully Torres will be available for the next game and maybe he will be on the bench - if everything is okay over the next few days."Last edited by Bender; 05-12-09, 07:43 PM.
