Pete, it's not turncoating it's just people have different levels of when enough is enough. There are people who want Rafa to go now, there are people like me who don't know what to think because we feel we are letting the team down, and people like yourself and MattShark who the rest of us don't have a clue as to what you class as 'enough is enough'.Originally posted by PeteBest View PostWhat can you ask more from a team lacking in confidence? We 'sat back' a bit at the start of the second half which allowed Arsenal to come back at us, but the goal was a complete fluke. Arsenal never deserved anything, we were turned down at least one clear penalty. It's all about luck and fine margins. We need to have the rub of the green to turn results. We're down in the rut, we should all pull together. Breaking the ranks like some supporters are doing right now smacks of 'turncoating' to me. We should pull together even when we're down. It's not all about Rafa, it's about the team.
The facts are, which surely we all agree, we are playing shockingly this season, we are well down in the league with 6 defeats, we are out of the CL before the knock out stages and we have a record of 3 wins in 15 and our team do not appear to be a team, which is possibly the most worrying thing!

Anyway its not up to us to sack the manager that is up to the owners. But with the amount of debt the club needs to service How much longer will this go on for? Will they act now in order to protect their investment or carry on as if nothing is wrong? They must be getting nervous about our situation? Without CL football the money will have to be found from somewhere and that will effect the long term plans they have for the club. Afterall they are pimping the club to anyone who will listen.

My point is that we as a club can't sustain a run of form like this.
Whatever it takes, I would much prefer Rafa and the lads get their heads right and go on a run unbeaten for the rest of the year, but it looks unlikely.
My point is that it will harm us in many ways if we continue, both in financial terms, footballing terms like being able to attract top talent to liverpool, surely you have to agree with that sentiment?
I do
I think I have just fallen out of love with football. Seeing a Liverpool fan before a CL game on sky saying we just need the Saudi money. SOrt of brought it home to me that its become a millionaires plaything, not the game I watched in the early 80s

I am as frustrated as you mate. Today was just an unlucky defeat. Arsenal played worst than us but won out of a flukey goal and one out of the blue. We were denied a clear penalty and we played very well in the first half.Originally posted by SimonNo7 View PostPete, it's not turncoating it's just people have different levels of when enough is enough. We sat back a bit which allowed Arsenal to cling two passes together then the ball runs out in Johnson's path for a silly goal. Then our heads just dropped. It's down to the players, and highly paid ones at that, who are on the pitch at this moment in time to react, not Rafa. Rafa comes out fighting each time when he's pilloried in the press and comes out of it with his reputation intact.
The players have got to turn it around. We concede a goal, go back at it and try to win the game.

Sad but true that Paul, which is why SOS don't have my support because they seem to want a sugar daddy.Originally posted by paulc View PostI do

I was brought up on 80's football and expected my visit to Wembley every year, maybe big headed but that's the way it was. Pride in the jersey and all.
Just so f**king sad.

first half we should have been at least a couple up.
everybody knows that as soon as you actually have a go at liverpool they are fragile and will concede goals. We simply cannot defend any more and its frankly embarrassing.
Nobody can blame johnson, he hasnt had a proper run of games and looks unfit. Same applies to torres who looked like he ran out of puff at half itme.
Gerrard is another matter. He doesnt look like he has the belief in the manager any more and that's worrying. His body language looked pretty poor and once you captain and star player no longer believes that the manager cant take us forward then the rest of the squad will follow soon.
Dirk and yossi were very poor today and although I dont think they deserved to win, any half decent side that actually takes us on will cause us a huge amount of trouble.
I dont think rafa made the correct decision in taking of masher (lucas should have gone instead) and we didnt get close enough to arsenal during the first 15 mins of the half.
Yet another bad day at the office and is that 11 defeats for the season in all competitions in about 20 games.
Something has to change because the club is in meltdown. Rafa can criticise souness and klinsmann all he wants but we are in serious trouble.[B]Sir Isaac Newton knew the universal law of karma - any action has its equal and opposite reaction.[B]
