Definetly some sarcasm here Pete !!Originally posted by PeteBest View PostOur supporters aren't really inspiring though are they? Apart from the impressive YNWA at the start of the match, they quickly got into hiding when things started to go wrong.
Everyone of us couldn't give a rats arse working for 'uninspiring' employers I assume. Same could be said of the players.
As I said, it's easy to blame Rafa and everyone else under the sun, as the supporters are always right.
It is easy to blame Rafa for all of this, i agree.
But surely he is the one that oversees all the major decisions off the field? The buck does have to stop somewhere?
Anybody who is in a managerial role, has to make decisions, as he/she sees fit and take responsibility for them -
But Rafa, also has the outside influences of the likes of Howard Webb's outrageous decision in denying Stevie a penalty today, that could have changed the whole dynamic of the game....and we could have been three points richer tonight.
But anyway, the phrase "cry wolf" comes to mind as far as Stevie and penalty claims go.......but, thats for another thread.
It's not an easy job he has, but it's his decision to be here.....i just hope he can turn it round...........i really do.

well, the supporters are apparently picking the team now so we have to take some of the blame.Originally posted by PeteBest View PostOur supporters aren't really inspiring though are they? my point exactly !!Originally posted by Icon View PostAren't they one and the same?
do you live and breathe LFC (i'm sure like me, you do)
do you live and breathe the company you work for? (i don't - but i do my best when i'm there and get paid for it, but as i drive home, i immediatly think of my family and LFC)
That, my friend, is my point.

I agree with you. That point is emphasized by Rafa's substitutions today, never in anyone's dream he would have drafted in Aquilani (he normally gives him 30 secs at the end of games) nor would he have played with 2 strikers.Originally posted by FatTony View Postwell, the supporters are apparently picking the team now so we have to take some of the blame.

and if he'd brought Ngog on for Torres, he would've been booed so he had to keep him on as well!Originally posted by PeteBest View PostI agree with you. Had dinner guests and have just finished watching the game as I taped it, without knowing the result.
I have always been a Rafa fan. Always defended him no matter what as I believed in him and his methods. I have been baffled by some of his decisions before, and no doubt I will be in the future. I haven't read the thread as I can't be arsed.
My question is: what the hell happened at half time? I read that Wenger was mad as hell at half time, giving the arse players a rollicking (spelling?). But what happened in our dressing room? Did the manager, after watching our team have full control over the match in the first half, putting the arse players under constant pressure, tell the players to try and control the match by letting arsenal play football and come at us? The same arsenal which is at their best when they are allowed to attack? The same arsenal which beat anyone when they are not put under pressure? The same arsenal that we comfortably beat in the first half, it should have been more than one-nil had Mr. Arsenal himself (yes, I remember he had a similar performance last year when we met arsenal) not waved away a blatant penalty, by putting them under pressure. I believe we have a manager who is too hung up in himself, too hung up in controlling the game, too hung up in ifs and buts, too hung up in his ****ing tactics. Why not keep going as we did in the first half? Yes I know, goals changes games, and the arse was bounf to attack more in the second half, but our manager is a ****ing coward. There, I've said it. He bottles it more often than not. Why not go out and attack even more in the second half? Arse were there for the taking. Several players injured. Outplayed in the first half. No attacking threat at all. What do we do? Lay down on our backs and spread our legs. Come take us, we are here for the taking, as we have been all season. **** off. I hate football at the moment. Hate it.
Thank God it's only 243 days till the start of the new season. Can't wait. And for those wondering, first time I've said it and meant it, hopefully we have a manager that believes in our team, plays to our strengths, gets the best out of the players we have, and, even when we are one-nil up at half-time, can give our players the rollicking that they need to go out and win the match.
I believe that Rafa is on the right track with our youth setup, but unfortunately it is not enough. We need a manager that can go out attacking like we did last spring, but throughout the season, not just when he feels like it.
I'm drunk as hell right now, but you know what they say; from kids and drunk people, you'll hear the truth. At least that's what we say here in Norway

Ps. What the hell happened to the smilies?!?

I like rafa and want him to be our manager. However, I also want a manager who doesn't constantly play one striker and 2 defensive midfielders with no attacking abilities, even at home. I just don't want to watch that kind of negative football every week. I want a manager who has a plan b and isn't affraid to mix it up a bit. Unless rafa changes, I wouldn't but gutted if he goes. Hopefully he can match the personnel to his strategy soon but I think it needs to be the strategy that changes.Trey Nyoni: countdown to stardom-2 years1year0.5 years

Heart breaking stuff this, and i've decided i can't really blame anyone for it, i feel it's just some strange quirk of fate, i don't believe a manager like Rafa can be doing anything so different to what he's done throughout his managerial career that could be causing a run of results like the one we've experienced.
It's just not possible imo, it's just something we have to go through, together, as a club and as supporters of that club, we then hopefully come back stronger for it, whether that's next season, or if we salvage something from this one i don't know, but either way i just don't think any one thing or person can be blamed for what's happened this season.
It's just plain crazy, and very very hard to see the club, manager and fans go through such a hellish time in our history on the field.

Walking a lonely road one night, Nasruddin saw riders approaching. His imagination ran riot: he saw himself robbed or killed, so he climbed a wall into a graveyard and hid. Puzzled at his behaviour, the riders, who were followers of the Mullah, followed. Finding him cowering behind a grave, they asked "Great Sage, why are you hiding here?". "It's more complicated than you think" he replied, "I'm here because of you - and you're here because of me"
