For me Rafa needs to freshen it up or kick some backsides because what he is currently doing just isn't working.

I don't know the injury situation but I would be tempted to start El Zhar on the right and play Aquilani from the start either off Torres with Gerrard in CM or in CM with Mascherano.

It's probably too much to ask for 2 up front in a home game but picking the same players with the same tactics just isn't happening for us at the moment so he has to show he has acknowledged that and make some changes.

Would be nice to see Pacheco or Ecclestone on the bench as well, sometimes the young lads who are full of enthusiam provide the catalyst for the senior pro's who have got bogged down with the fear of losing.

Bottom line is Rafa has to do something to try and shake off our malaise


Oh and a bench of 2 centre halfs and 2 left backs clearly is a waste of time, just smacks of trying to keep senior players happy by picking them on the bench for appearance money or something.
Skrtel and Insua as subs then bring in 2 young players, fresh faces.

The confidence of the players is well and truely shot, I'm down mentally and the players must be totally screwed never mind Rafa.

On a side note I was shocked to hear Redknapp on sky slightly sticking up for Rafa 'With where's the Keane money and the Xabi* (his slip - Fernando) Alonso money gone?

At the point, when I realised after all these years Kuyt is truly awful (even thou I think he offers alot, I think he'll do a better job on the bench and coming on as in last 10 minutes) and anything other than a cart horse is better.
