We're not at the top or anywhere near it so why say it.

Most of the time we weren't actually, he took us there but it was not a instant process. Right now, we clearly are, we may be having a poor season but we were not runners up last season for nothing. Sorry but your comment is daft.

It is not just with the media that Rafa can't win with, it is our own fans.
We complain he is stubborn and we'd complain if he wasn't
We complain he is being confident, god know what would happen here if he was defeatist!

      Utterly ridiculous.

Don't get me wrong Matt I love Rafa but I just don't agree with what's he's saying. We're not currently in the top four, I appreciate that we're not far off it either and I know that we will play better shortly and will end up higher but he cannot guarantee that we'll finish there which is why I think it was a strange thing to come out with mate.

There's nothing wrong with being confident and he is doing the right thing but it may backfire on him that's all which I obvsiously don't want to happen.

I for one don't complain that he's stubborn or for the way he is, that's just him through and through however you must understand what I'm trying to say no.

If they are though and they completely fall apart (again) Martin O'Neill will still miraculously be immune from critisism in the press
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

To be fair last season they had a very thin squad and he has improved that this year. I don't think they will implode but they will drift down the table a bit as they have been playing at their maximum and other than Downing coming in I don't think there is anything more they can do. They aren't far ahead of us and we have been woeful.

He's actually done a good job there in my view. He's not the great manager some make out but he is as good as has come up in the PL era from within these shores.

                "I guarantee 4th place"

                Nice one!

When Arsenal win one of their 2 games in hand we will be 8 points off 4th place and this is best case scenario.

I counter-guarantee we WILL NOT be playing Champions League football next season.

Me, I'd sell Torres for £80m, Monster for £30m, Rafa resigns savings us £20m and we give the £110m to a new manager. I think we'd be a stronger team with £110m on 5 top class players than with Torres and the current squad.

I am assuming we don't sign 5-6 Glen Johnson's by the way. What a terrible signing we've made there, truly awful.
