Arsenal only drawing with Burnley too, Chavs needing a late pen to beat Portsmouth.

Much needed win tonight, thank **** for that.

Good result for us, and glad the Chavs won too. We're realistically looking to achieve top 4 - we need Chelsea to keep winning to prevent the Scum from getting to number 19 before we do.

Tottenham beating Man City was a good result for us too, I think Man City are the better team and much more likely to be competing for a top 4 spot come the end of the season. AV and TH will run out of steam in the second half of the season.

the worrying thing is, i think rafa may be looking at shoring up the defense in the next transfer window - meaning limited funds for some much needed firepower up front.

Anybody who is happy with that performance tonight is deluded. But, a much needed 3 points........if we had've dropped points tonight, it would've been catastrophic..

Not convinced the end of our poor period is over yet, but then we've got another couple of easy games coming up (though none seem easy at the moment). Hopefully the confidence will be back in time for the Villa game.

Thought Mascher had a good one, but Benny's runs into the box are the most important part of our gameplan at the moment, just give him the ball all the time. Ngog does seem to be developing into a very decent prospect.

Gerrard hasn't played well this season, I'm waiting for the real Gerrard to stand up.

Another poor performance. Wigan stayed in 1st gear and we were hanging on at the end resorting to hoofing the ball in panic.

I know a win is a win, but right now we need a performance that will boost the confidence. I dont think that was one. I still do not understand resting Aqualani or Torres?

I honestly can't believe people think we played WELL?! I mean c'mon have we slipped that badly here?!

It was a "2-0" game at home against a team which may find itself sucked into a relegation scrap. It was a decent result, given our current form, nothing more. And that SOFT goal conceded right at the end highlights that our defensive frailty doesn't look like its coming to an end.
