I just hate the way that everyone across the middle of the pitch receives the ball, turn around themselfes to play the ball further across the field. Nobody runs forward with the ball when receiving it (just Torres & Aqua) - the rest makes that turn around-thing. It won't be long, before every defender will just stand there waiting for the turn of the Liverpool player - and nick the ball. It takes the pace of the game, makes our players so predictable - and so easy to defend against. That is why we had 15 corners - and only 4 shot inside the goalposts.

We were mediocre at best, some good periods, but a lot of guff as well. Only to be expected given our recent run.
The win is most important thing and it's a huge relief to pick up the three points.
We have to build on this now. There's been too many false turning points to our season already. With two relatively easy games coming up against Portsmouth and Wolves we should aim to get another six points in the bag and try to boost confidence levels.A humble guy with healthy desire.

Just because his best days are over doesn't mean we should sell him, i mean look at Scholes and Giggs...there best days were probably over 4 or 5 years ago but even now they still play a big part for United.Originally posted by Icon View PostWhy would you keep a player passed his peak?
I don't think we'll see the Gerrard of seasons gone by, the niggling injuries and fatique is maybe starting to take it's toll.
He's still a great player though and we've had 5 or 6 seasons of him being on top of his game but perhaps now he's on the decline."Let me say for the record, I am not a gangster and never have been. I think it's very premature to be writing Gerrard off like that.Originally posted by Marky View PostJust because his best days are over doesn't mean we should sell him, i mean look at Scholes and Giggs...there best days were probably over 4 or 5 years ago but even now they still play a big part for United.

To me it looks like he is still struggling with injuries.A humble guy with healthy desire.

Hard to believe that this is what we have resorted to and its not even Christmas yetOriginally posted by TheElephantMan View PostGood result for us, and glad the Chavs won too. We're realistically looking to achieve top 4 - we need Chelsea to keep winning to prevent the Scum from getting to number 19 before we do.
Tottenham beating Man City was a good result for us too, I think Man City are the better team and much more likely to be competing for a top 4 spot come the end of the season. AV and TH will run out of steam in the second half of the season.
Andy Gray said tonight 'would you like to look back over the past few years and see that the only 'achievement' you made was finishing in the top 4 or would you like to look back and see some silverware like the Fa and Carling cups?' He chose the latter as I think most of us (except Rafa) would.

We've just had some **** luck, we were amazing during the second half of last season. We need to regain some confidence, get ourselves some points and finish in the top four. I'm not being defeatist, just a realist. We need to buy the players we should have bought during the last transfer window and then we'll be right up there where we should be.Originally posted by ufc43 View PostHard to believe that this is what we have resorted to and its not even Christmas yet

I wouldn't listen to his poison.
Yes we'd like to win things but you can't discount the tremendous financial reward that being in the Champions League provides - he knows this, but chooses to ignore it. That's why he's too dumb to be a manager.James Philip Milner Fanclub #1
