For the current team I'd go with Torres as if you take him out we lack goals, Torres has a better goals to game ratio than Dalglish (partly because of the different roles in the team), plus I'd say Gerrard in his current role is as close as you'd get to a modern day Dalglish.

now if you asked me who would i prefer rush and dalglish or Gerrard and torres now thats a harder question!!!

Love this guy, he is the envy of every single side in the world.

Just watching his goal last night here,
http://www.football.virginmedia.com/...,12555,00.html shows it in slow mo at the end, the way he did whatever it took to get the ball in the bag as quick as he possibly could, speed of thought, skill, the lot, looked simple, but he was off balance and about to be or was in the process of being tackled, the simple things can also show a players quality as much a the mazy runs, dribbles and wonder goals, it was a joy to watch him slot that goal, especially in slow mo.

Obviously he'll score better, but that finish said a lot about the player.

There is a difference in those two positions in my mind...Drogba plays the deep role better than anybody, with the sheer muscle to bulldoze aside any defender...Torres is by far the more clinical tho...them two in a partnership would be amazing.

Not for me, but it's dull semantics really. In my world a centre-forward is exactly the same thing as a striker.

Kin annoys me when Chelsea are playing and everyone forgets Torres exists...all this ****e about Drogba being the best centre-forward in the world. Balls. Yes he's very good when he concentrates on playing instead of acting, almost unplayable, but just take a minute to compare their goalscoring records FFS, it's a no-contest. Fernando is the best striker in the world.

Drogba's a throwback in some ways, besides his antics. Both footed and an absolute menace and I'd think he would be effective in our team since we do rely heavily on the long ball.

Torres has thrived in our team, and with our system and style of play, his goal record tells us that much.

Imo Torres has far more to his all round game than Drogba.
