Glen Johnson to be quizzed by police

Liverpool and England defender Glen Johnson is set to be quizzed by police after a student claimed he was attacked outside a nightclub in London’s West End.

Rashed Al Muhtadi, 20, claims he was punched repeatedly and a friend of his was spat on. Liverpool right back Johnson was with friends outside the Movida nightclub when the trouble took place at 4am on Sunday.

Al Muhtadi told The Sin: "was left with significant injuries" and made an official complaint to police officers at Paddington Green Station.

Johnson, a major summer signing for Liverpool, is likely to be questioned once police have viewed CTV footage of the incident.

Famously, Glen Johnson was fined £80 in January 2007 for allegedly trying to steal a toilet seat whilst at Portsmouth.

Glen Johnson has played 18 matches for Liverpool in the Premier League and Champions League this season, scoring two goals and providing two assists

Oh brilliant, thats all we need.

I'm not being funny but if someone was paying me £80k a week to be a top professional then I'd be a top professional and walk away from jealous little ****s like this (if there was some sort of provocation).

I still don't think we'll finish in the top 4 this season."

easy to say mate but you're not on 80K, you don't mix in his world, you're not surrounded by 'mates' massaging your overinflated ego.

95% of top level footballers are cocks. too much money for doing far too little. they're uneducated to boot. money goes to their head.

But when you get cocks intent on winding the **** out of you regardless of whether you're on the dole or in millionaires row if its in your character to have 'a go' you will.

All true. I'm more of a have a go type myself, but if I had a different profession I'd like to think I'd just walk away from situations like this. Who knows for sure though.

A mate of mine had a friend who worked in a hotel when Kieron Dyer was staying there with a couple of other players. They were making arses of themselves and making a mess and when asked to stop the cocky little fecker starting flicking £20 notes at him.

see that doesn't surprise me one bit. in fact you could have swopped the name dyer for another 100 british players and I would have accepted it. but you wouldn't associate henry, alonso etc with this type of behaviour yet they're on the same money.

Its upbringing. This country is full of idiots craving fame. its the reason our cities are full of pissed up ****s throwing up, shagging in the streets and fighting every weekend yet i haven't witnessed the same stuff in paris, barcelona or rome.

I'd have taken the twenty pounds notes and told the cunt i'll be paying his mother later for her services!

Totally correct, but today's 'professionals' seem to find it harder to do exactly that.

Puzzles me why they are getting themselves in these situations in the first place - have a good time but FFS don't mingle with the riff raff.

He will be 'quizzed' by the police. Not arrested. Could just be a witness. Happened to me recently. I witnessed somebody being glassed, and I was 'quizzed' by the police.
                      Oh I don't know.

I was quizzed by police once after I witnessed a car accident. Although to be honest, it wasn't much of a 'quiz'.

I've been quizzed by the police regarding a murder.

There was also the time I was quizzed regarding a series of rapes.

They finally got me for a bald rear tyre.

                              Oh the irony.
