Thanjk you.

strange but i remember plenty of match threads over the years where people were caning him for being slower than jason mcateer's brain.
Well, he still is not the fastest (as proven in his last match where he was just too slow for the attacker) but in 90% of all situations he does read it right and proacts. You don't have to run, if you're already in the right spot in the first place.
During the winter break in Germany the main footie-paper Kicker will publish its bi-annual ranking of players in division 1 and 2 and I am curious in which position he will be ranked. I'll keep you posted.
Alright. the first issue of the ranking is out since this morning, covering the goalies and central defenders.
The goalie ranking was won by German international Rene Adler who plies his trade in Leverkusen as does the top ranked player in the central defence category.
Alright, to cut it short Sami has taken the top spot in that ranking and the headline says: "Couldn't have been clearer" because apparently everyone involved in setting up the ranking was in agreement on his extraordinary role during the first part of this season.
It must have helped him to have a partner like Manuel Friedrich playing alongside him, who ended up 4th in the ranking, but this position is downto his experience, oversight, positional awareness and heading skills.
Good one, Sami ... among the best ever to wear the red shirt.

He wouldn't have been a regular this season as his legs wouldn't have let him.
I think he made a fantastic move by going to Germany.
Good luck to him. I hope he wins the league with them.
Maybe he'll return one day.
The thing is after a run of a few games he looked fine in recent season - the burn in was a problem that may have been made worse but it didn't really get any worse in the last few years, maybe he always had that problem but it wasn't as noticeable in a more consistent unit. I'm not convinced he ever really lost any pace to be honest he was never quick.
Whether he could have dealt with the number of games people might have hoped he would have played in physically.
I think that given the information everyone had they made the right decisions. Rafa offered him the player coach role and Sami wanted to really play as long as he could and to play in a league he knew he would be top class in.

Well, what is official is that his contract wich runs until 1012 contains an exit clause to join a particular club in the UK. Unofficially it seems clear that it would be the one you mentioned.
He's been to watch them lose at Anfield recently and that sparked most current rumours.
