By the way Coppel is a complete cunt he said after the game " For a £24m player like Aqualini he expected a lot more" what a ****ing prick
Is this the manc Steve Coppell who makes Keegan look like he can handle pressure?

Lucas did very well yesterday without Mash and has started to come into his own. One delightful comment to make was that Aqualini was making runs into the box ala Gerrard of old. we actually numbered more than one in the box a few times.

Someone mentioned johnson being lazy, I noticed that too and at times he seemed a little lost
I make no apologies, this is me

Yeah, he definitely looked out of sorts. Not fully fit imo, like quite a few of our players.

Lucas, well, it was only Wolves 'n' all that, but I swear he looks a far better player when he doesn't play with Mascherano. He's actually quite good at the holding role in his own right, and I'm far more comfortable seeing him play alongside someone with a bit more creativity than someone who does a very similar job to himself.

              Mine angry and defrauded young?

I was loving Aquilani picking up the ball from the CBs and intelligently starting attacks. Oh how we've missed that since you know who left!

I really think it is about more than just Mascherano playing or not with Lucas. He is all about short passing and movement. We have all too often played players who aren't providing that movement from deep and both he and Mascherano suffer and obviously as the other is inclined to stay deep that reduces the options further. If we played a fit combination of Gerrard, Aquilani and Benayoun ahead of them I think they would be fine but players like Kuyt who requires us to be playing in the final third to make an impact put added pressure on them.

The poor fitness of the creative members of our squad has had a big impact on how useful the Macherano-Lucas combination has been. I'm surprised we haven't used Babel more actually as at least to give an option of pacy running out from deep.
