GUUS HIDDINK'S shadow was looming over Rafa Benitez last night after the former Chelsea manager Hiddink admitted he would like to return to England.
Liverpool are standing by Benitez, despite a dismal campaign which reached a new low with the FA Cup defeat by
Reading, and have not discussed his future.
Benitez’s position will only be reviewed at the end of the season, but speculation over his position will only
intensify with Dutchman Hiddink claiming he would be keen to work in the Premier League again.
Hiddink spent the second half of last season at Stamford Bridge, winning the FA Cup, and will meet Russian football
chiefs later this month after failing to guide the country to the World Cup.
“The first thing that I want to do before making any decision on my future is speak with the Russian federation
president, but it is the case that I would like to coach in England again,” said Hiddink.
Liverpool are ruling out any approach and despite Hiddink being heavily linked with taking over at Juventus, that move has not materialised.
Indeed, Roberto Bettaga, Juventus’s vice general manager, knows Benitez and may move for him if current coach Ciro Ferrara is fired.

There's another similar article in the mail. My faith in Benitez has been rock solid the past few years, but the recent performances, and poor judgement in the transfer market has left me with a few seeds of doubt.
One of the main reasons I have kept faith in Rafa is because I dont think there are any managers of the same calibur who would replace him. If Hiddink was interested in the job that would end that argument in my opinion.
Im still hoping Rafa can turn this round
