It would be a stupid move on Hiddinks part.
Are you a liverpool fan? this club maybe in turmoil but it has this fantastic thing called history. That means no matter what turmoil we are in we will always be a great catch for those managers with ambition.

THe bloke has a chance to become god amongst men if he did well with us and who knows whats round the corner. we may get investment....its all **** at the moment but the Liverbird will fly again

Hiddink. Vastly overrated, people talk like he'll come in and wave a magic wand. Rubbish.

FA Cup aside what's he won in the last 10 years? Nothing worth winning.

No doubt we'd get the new manager reaction, but that's not enough for me.
he's been the national coach of australia and south korea, and got them not only to the world cup, but acctually had them messing with the big boys, nevermind the fact he finished 4th with both holland and south korea. plus that he's been the coach of real madrid, valencia, psv, and various others, and he's not good enough?

            Bit harsh IMO mate.

They battered Barca at Stamford Bridge and apart from Iniesta's goal, Barcelona hardly got into Chelsea's penalty area.

Barring some insane refereeing decisions, Chelsea would've got through that tie.

What does it mean though, nothing, so he's manged a few big games, i'm fed up of people talking about this man like he's a god of football, he couldn't get Russia to the cup ffs, when he really should have from the position they got themselves in. pressure, no pressure with Korea or Australia, but Russia were expected to qualify and didn't.

For instance, Rafa team beats Jose, Jose's team beats Rafa's, that's how football is, doesn't mean one is better than the other.

Rafa is the only one of those to manage lfc, with all our problems and disadvantages over his time here he's not done that bad imo.

So it would be a crying shame if he now left without the chance to manage this club under better, easier, circumstsnces, imo the time is not yet right for change...one more season is in order imo.

Rafa won two la liga's with an unfancied club, have Hiddink and Jose done that ? No!

Hiddink is the only manager that could be available that I would wan't us to replace Rafa with, if he should leave.

Fantastic manager, and very succesful. I'm still undecided whether Rafa should go or not - mixed feelings all the way through, but if it where to be, it would be hard to find a better manager than him.

I have to disagree with some of that. Hiddink also led Holland to the semis in 1998 of the WC with pressure, got Russia to the semis in the EC - by far the best result Russia had since the soviet times. And his career with PSV was very good with championships and european cup win.

He has been succesfull more or less everywhere he has been, but whether the timing is right is a good question to raise. Rafa has done very well for us, and this is really our first time with a major crisis under him. I think it's fair that he at least gets untill the end of the season to get things back on track, but I don't think he should get next season automatically, for me it still depends on this season.

Hiddink's biggest asset, for me, is his ability to get people to perform at their maximum possible level. If he (or anyone) got the best out of our squad, we'll be laughing.

Duh! yes I am a Liverpool fan, but I'm also a realist. History has it's place and it's true we have a glorious one but at the end of the day that's all it is..... History. Promises of investment is no invest at all, see my previous post about the owners being liars

I've spent the first half of the season defending Rafa and the team but unfortunately I fear for the worst which is odd for me because I'm usually a glass half full type. I am trully sickened by all aspects of our season, players, manager, officials, injurys, owners, funds, results..... **** I'm nearly crying here...

If you were an internationally renowned manager that respected Liverpool but not necessarily a fan would you take the job?. You'd have to be mad...
