    Hypothetical:

In the event that say Liverpool draw their next three games and say Man City win their next three games, Liverpool would be 11 points behind the fourth place team.

that would mean Liverpool would have to make up those points and goal difference in just 15 games.

Would Rafa be the right person to do this in taking into consideration the current malaise and availability of key players?.

Would the board reckon that paying off Rafa now is a better bet than paying him off at the end of the season and then lsoing 20m+ champions league money ie 20+20 = 40m(speculative)?

I personally believe it is unlikely that a manager of a team that is in such a rut, can turn it around. There is no FA CUp, Carling Cup or CL in March to look forward too.

Just the losers cup as Ronny Whelan describes it, where losers play other losers to win a cup for losers...

My oown point of view is that not one of Rafa's teams have displayed enough consistency for him to remain as a Liverpool manager.

Liverpools success was built on consistency and not on good patches and bad patches evening them selves out to mediocrity and very occasional successes.

Personally If we lose against Stoke, and I was the owners and I would consider the risk of losing the 20m CL money next year and bite the bullet and fire Rafa.

Who's to say a new man now would achieve fourth place? I don't understand the 20m or 40m thing.

we are told that to break rafa's contract would cost the club circa 20million

we are told a club makes 20m from the CL qualification

      20 + 20 = 40m

Dont you think that a new manager would have more success than a manager that appears to have lost the dressing room alledgedly...

I think you may need to look at the £20 mill pay off in detail mate.

I don't think it's as straight forward as that and I'm sure Shaggy or someone posted up how it actually breaks down.

To be honest, it's no coincidence that since Rafa took over his new
"I wan't control of everything" role, things have gone a bit pear shaped.

And if we win our next three games and say Man City draw, then we'll be a point ahead of them.

And if my Aunty had balls she'd be my Uncle.

It wouldn't cost £20m to sack Rafa, its just another load of bull**** peddled by the media and lapped up by fans who cannot think for themselves.

If we win every game now till the end of the season, we could be champions.

If we lose every game now till the end of the season, we could be playing Doncaster and Scunthorpe next season

Let's bring Ronnie Whelan and all of the other ex Liverpool player pundit/moaning ****s (failed managers and not even managed) in on a 1 week rotation.

I think if City win their next three games they would be higher than 4th.
