Generally i'd agree, but with the Stoke game, the referee's idiocy was the difference between us winning and not. 2 clear pens and one of them right at the end - we'd have won if he'd made the right decisions.

And i didnt say do the same because it's the only option. I didnt even actually say do the same thing.

I said work hard, dig in and drag ourselves out of it - that's the most likely and reliable method to end this rot, as probably 95% or more of kids in squads (as an example of another alternative that was mentioned) arent gonna be world beating prodigies who can come in and turn things for us.

I was simply replying to the other lad, who was saying that we should look to our own mistakes, rather than the ref's - which is generally true, except for when a clear cut refereeing error has single handedly made the difference.

Without Gerrard & Torres think there;s a strong argument for playing 4-4-2.
With Maxi and Riera back we have wingers and i think as Ngog as our only striker he needs someone up there with him (Kuyt/Aquilani) I would prefer kuyt and aquilani as the playmaker alongside Mascher but I doubt Rafa would be comfortable with such an attacking line up.

I think you're right, at the moment this is our best side, sad to say. But that strike force depresses me beyond belief - there must be better options Babel and Pacheco, Eccelstone and El Zar, Amoo?
