Well it gives you a darn sight better chance than finishing 5th does.

True but if you dont get through then thats it. At least with 5th place you get the money from the Europa Cup groups stages

Yes, you still have work to do once you finish fourth, but you have no chance of making the champions league if you don't finish in the top four.

Next years qualifiers will be more difficult, but a qualifier is better than no chance at all.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Of course it doesnt guarantee you a place in the group phase, but it's one step nearer - and as pointed out, the alternative means your CL chances are completely null and void

I read something interesting on Martin Tyler's column on the BBC website today - if Pompey go out of business, all the team that have taken points off them would lose them. Man City would drop 6 points!!

Logically, that should happen and logically, you cant see how Pompey could survive another 3 months.

However, i can see some sort of deal whereby the PL agrees with HMRC that Pompey's parachute payments will be guaranteed and paid directly from the PL to HMRC. They'll survive til the end of the season.

No, you are probably right, but that would be pleasing For us anyway, maybe not fans of Portsmouth.
                      * The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

Sorry to veer off the subject a little, but am i right in saying that the Man City game at the weekend isn't on TV?

Sky's games seem to be Villa Vs Burnley and Spurs Vs Wigan.

                          That is utterly mental!

It's not on tv, 3pm kickoff.

I'm going though, so that's fine with me
