    POMPEY-LESS PREMIER LEAGUE
In a story featured on Sky Sports regarding Portsmouth, it states "any teams that had taken points off Portsmouth would lose them, leaving the table with a new look and reducing the relegation places to two." Please could you show how the Premier League table will look if Portsmouth cease to exist and the Premier League table is rearranged? Thanks, Karl
MARTIN SAYS: At this stage, all of this is hypothetical, but we have calculated how the table would look if all of Portsmouth's results were removed. At the bottom end of the table, West Ham would drop from 14th to 16th but still outside the relegation zone, while Wigan - who were beaten 4-0 by Pompey - would rise from 16th to 15th.

At the top, Manchester United would lose six points (and a goal difference of eight) and go four points behind Chelsea while Arsenal would also lose six points and end up nine points behind the leaders. Liverpool, who lost to Portsmouth at Fratton Park, would close the gap on Arsenal to two points, while Man City would lose six points and fall from fourth to sixth.

Premier League table with Portsmouth's points removed:

    Team Pld W GD Pts
    Chelsea 25 17 38 55
    Man Utd 24 16 33 51
    Arsenal 24 14 25 46
    Liverpool 25 13 18 44
    Tottenham 25 12 18 40
    Man City 23 10 12 39
    Aston Villa 24 11 11 39
    Birmingham 24 10 -3 34
    Everton 24 9 -2 32
    Fulham 24 7 0 28
    Stoke City 24 6 -5 28
    Blackburn 25 7 -19 28
    Sunderland 23 6 -10 24
    Wigan 23 6 -19 24
    Wolves 24 6 -20 24
    West Ham 23 4 -10 23
    Burnley 24 6 -23 23
    Hull City 25 5 -26 23
    Bolton 24 5 -18 19
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

The bookies now have City as slight favourites for fourth with us at 7/4 and them at 13/8.

For the 1st time this season i think we may not finish in the top 4. Beating Chelsea away will give them massive confidence going into every remaining match.

Hopefully their inconsistency will return soon!

Unless Portsmouth get out of business.

I can't see that happening anyway and the outrage it will cause. The Premier League just don't have the balls to do something like this.
