    Liverpool v Tottenham

Taken from Red and white kop.com

Topic: Banner - "We are focusing on supporting our manager"

Has anyone on here still got that banner?

If you have, or know who's got it, then can you please, please get in touch and try and get it out for Wednesday night.

We're at home to Tottenham, the knives are out for our manager and Sky are absolutely deperate for a story. They're desperate for us to get beat and they're absolutely dying to report that Liverpool fans have turned on Rafa.
The support a Stoke yesterday was superb, for both the players, the club and the manager; yet they've ignored it and still peddling the same old nonsense about his time being up and the fans are turning.

Wednesday night is our chance to show we're different, we're still the best around when it comes to backing our own. It's a backs to the wall job and time to be defiant in our support for the club, the players and the manager. By supporting them it also shows we know the problems lie elsewhere, without actually having to break out into a "Yanks Out" tirade.

We've always been a support that's supported; let's not change that now. Wednesday night we've GOT to be loud, proud, together and support.

    Make that banner the centrepiece.

"THEY ALL LAUGH AT US, THEY ALL MOCK AT US, THEY ALL SAY OUR DAYS ARE NUMBERED...."

that be great...i've actually developed some sort of siege-mentality from yesterday's frustrating result..i was so nervous that i kicked and broke my chair when stroke scored, all the emotions, all the frustration, disappointmets went into that kick, and i feel a lot better now

the fans seemed to have been very quiet at anfield latetly, but the support yesterday was amazing and the rafa benitez chant was amazing to hear. i hope they find the banner and the TV camers actually show it

            Fantastic.

I think a rocking atmosphere with everyone right behind Rafa would offer a big 'up yours' to the media vultures out to see him perish. The coverage of that Stoke fan with the P45 thing has been scandalous. Either they're too ****ing thick to realise he was a Stoke fan or, more likely, it's a deliberate lie, a blatant twisting of events to suit their agenda. And it is an agenda.

So yeah...no doubt a good few will turn their nose up at this but I'm all for it. Huge game, huge night, huge opportunity.

sorry shaggy - seem to be following you around on the footie forums atm, but i think that the reading result, the three big injuries and the stoke performance have galvanised a lot of fans who could've gone either way in terms of wanting rafa here or gone and i include myself in this group. this new "**** em all" support for the team has really given me a lift as regards being an lfc fan in a ****ty season. right now i want rafa to stay and the players to step up and prove everyone wrong, firstly by ****ing spurs up big time. boot in every time, first to every ball, no ****in quarter given. dunno how long this feeling will last but a performance with the grit we showed agaist stoke will do me. it's our new reality dontcha know but **** it.

More of this please its time to unite, Rafa has made a dew mistakes BUT lets not let the media decide when his time his up. I think most sensible fans are of the opinion that Rafa should get until the end of the season and from there we can analyse the situation.

Sacking a manager midseason is Chav like and Rafa deserves more tbh.

Rafa we are behind you Sir.

I would say he is entitled to the end of this season and next but apart from that agree with you 100%

Give that man a break. Things are not going as planned one way or another for us this season. And the last thing we need is to call for the gaffer's head or for that matter any of the players.

The best thing for us now is to UNITE and stand behind the team especially RAFA. He deserve that the least for wat he has done for us this past 5 years...

This is just a blip for us ( the season that is ), and lets hope we emerge as a better team. This is LFC for crying out loud. So lets stick to the LFC way and show them what we are made up of.

For a start, show some respect for the gaffer. Lets not learn to appreciate him when he is gone !! It'll be too late then.

                    In Rafa we trust

Great sentiment here lads. Sadly though, i think we'll lose and he'll walk, for his own sanity and his own health - poor man

You know what, you could be right and before the Stoke match I heard the line up and didn't give us much of a chance.

But after seeing the performance the players put in on the pitch and playing the way they did suddenly there was a glimmer of light.

I think Rafa needs to stick his neck on the line now and maybe start to introduce Patcheco in tight games with about 20-30 minutes to go.

As for his mental health, well he looked shook in the MOTD interview nothing a few wins wont sort out though please God.

Im not sure this is the right time to try and bring in the youngsters.

Games are too tight and the pressure that much that if they have a bad game they will get slaughtered and fans on thier back and that could shatter their confidence.

What's the latest on Lennon does anyone know.

I'm expecting to have one or two nightmares before Wednesday of Lennon running rings round Insua.
