Also, he could take over Sami's mantle of being our four or five goals per season defender. Scored at the weekend and could've had a couple today.

Needs to sort his hair out though
He looks like shabal (french rugby player) , he's another scary mother ****er!!

He is good in the air and not the quickest, but can defend quite well and provide a target in the opposition's defence. Fair play to him for stepping up in the past two games

He's been great in the last couple of games, looks like he could be the new cult hero

Not bad for a fourth choice defender. Certainly feel he is someone we can rely on when needed, like the last two games.

People went to town on him in that CL game not so long ago.
              Oh I don't know.

To even attempt to 'replace' (which i gathered was the intent with the muscle/size) the big fin at the lowly price (which we had little choice in) we paid for him ... I thought was an impossibility..... If he carries on playing the way he is... A ****in inspired signing from Rafa.

He probably won't be a first teamer in most games but for the dog-fights against Stoke, Bolton etc, he could be vital!!

Great performance dealing with Crouch tonight.

He looks like he could thrive against the more physical teams who traditionally pose us problems

I'm not sure I would. I like him and his attitude is admirable but he has made fairly serious errors in all his matches (today the near own goal early and was it him involved in the disallowed goal?). He has clearly benefited by being with us longer and playing a few games but I still don't feel 100% secure with him. I guess it is partly lack of games and I have said to several people that it is worth noting that in the last few seasons Sami took a number of games to get up to speed.

Good call Shaggy. He definitely deserves his own thread full of praise. The ultimate accolade. The guty has no fear, which is ace, and I think he's really enjoying himself. I bet he never thought he'd be playing in the pl for a club like us at this stage of his career.

I was happy when we signed him. He was important for Greece when they won the European championships, he was younger then.
I can see him getting a few late headed goals due to the fact he'll put his head in where it hurts.
Also like has been mentioned, Skrtel seems to have re-found his game!

Yeah right. Just like the people told Samson he'd be a great prophet, he just needs to sort his hair out.
