Numerical ratings for footballers are totally inane anyway, but newspaper ratings are an absolute joke. They never correspond with reality.

I always get the impression that the reported of match reports have rarely watched the game, they so often talk nonsense, get details of key incidents and even team lineups wrong. Often the people writing the match report and doing the ratings are different people and totally contridict each other.

I've known journo's watch highlights and tehn report as if they've been there before now. One journalist was over the moon when Sky started with the extended highlights on a Saturday
