Thon man is a bit of a cock, there's no doubt about it.
Gerrard needs a fresh challenge or whatever you want to call it.
He's taking LFC for granted and it's clear to see he think he's too good for the club now."Let me say for the record, I am not a gangster and never have been. Im not the thief who grabs your purse. Im not the guy who jacks your car. Im not down with the people who steal and hurt others. Im just a brother who fight back."

i was fuming during the game and directly after .
not so much now
suppose i am getting used to it at this stage
this season is awfully like houliers last
utter dross, and players losing confidence in the manager imo, i cant see any other reason for constant underperfoming
i know masch has spoken out, but his and rafas man love is unquestioned. i wonder what carras/stevies real thoughts are. would love to have a chat with them
on the face of it, its not a teribble result, its the performance and attitude that is being questioned.
and rightly so.
if i was on the pitch and i saw only 1 change during that game when we were desperate for creativity, i would be fuming and no doubt fall out with rafa, i would say they are questioning rafa behind his back, they would have to be, who wouldnt.?

I suppose if Gerrard says he's fit the manager has to play him - otherwise he is essentially dropping him. Perhaps everyone is a star - Gerrard over stating his fitness and the manager wanting to believe him. It's not helping though.
As bad as we are (I didn't watch the game, but the comments above are fairly conclusive) I do wish we would stop this accusation that somehow Gerrard is a ******* for not playing well. He is clearly not fit, which isn't his fault. His only error from my point of view is overestimating his use to the team when fit to play, but not fully fit.
I'd rather he took the time off, but I guess cosseted players and under pressure managers can't really make these decisions.
Was there anything good to come out of tonights performance? Clean sheet for instance?Really?

At the risk of sounding like a stevie apologist, isn't that just Captain's spin?Originally posted by Molby View PostJust seen Stevie's interview on SS, he thinks "it's a point gained, as opposed to 2 dropped"
WTF Stevie, that's just bull**** - why not say the truth?
It was a piss poor performance and a piss poor result.Really?

Based on how poor the performance was, you could argue that it was a point gained.Originally posted by Molby View PostJust seen Stevie's interview on SS, he thinks "it's a point gained, as opposed to 2 dropped"

thats not a good thing though.

I think so - we showed the same fight and determination that we've been showing in the last few games (and weren't always previously). We were solid at the back for most of the game, and kept a clean sheet away from home.Originally posted by Tatterdemalion View PostWas there anything good to come out of tonights performance? We just didn't show enough class or creativity, and got sucked into a scrappy game. Strange though, as to rise above it would have required us to spend time keeping possession and knocking the ball around at the back, which is exactly what has had most of us tearing our hair out for much of this season.

Tatter, i'm not one of these fans who are out to criticise Stevie (check my earlier posts on other threads), but i wish he wouldn't patronise us.Originally posted by Tatterdemalion View PostAt the risk of sounding like a stevie apologist, isn't that just Captain's spin?
We are all hurting like **** tonight, i would have prefered to here what he really thought, as opposed to some artifical bull**** for the cameras.
Surely, any right minded Kopite cant believe that was a point gained?
Isn't he supposed to be a fan as well as our captain?
DALGLISH !! :respect

Wouldn't dispute any of that. I guess he says what he feels he needs to say. I would be amazed if he actually believed that, and I would bet that you don't believe he really means it.Originally posted by Molby View PostTatter, i'm not one of these fans who are out to criticise Stevie (check my earlier posts on other threads), but i wish he wouldn't patronise us.

I'm not being funny, but this is an issue where the media are to blame.Really?

thanks mate. fighting is quite important, but it's interesting that you talk about creativity. When we scoring all those goals last season there were a few brave souls who argued that even given the goals, there wasn't much in the way of creativity in the team - I mean we all wanted a winger and a forward for the summer - which speaks volumes. If I had one criticism about Rafa, it would be that there is never any real inventiveness in our play.Originally posted by calvoboy View PostI think so - we showed the same fight and determination that we've been showing in the last few games (and weren't always previously). The only thing that keeps me going is that post about the Rinus Michels method of building teams/squads (I ain't an expert here so forgive me..) to which Rafa appparently subscribes, where attacking play is pretty much the final part of the jigsaw.
So the story goes, this was going to be the season where the jigsaw got completed. I guess the best laid plans don't always work, so from that point of view I would forgive him this season. My problem is that I don't really see progress on the attacking point of view.Really?
