Fredo, your argument Rafa will fix it is pointless because game after game he keeps proving you wrong. Anytime he does make good decisions and wins a game, the next game he goes a throws it away again by reverting to type
I used to be in the camp that did not want Mourinho anywhere near our club but right now id take him.
I want a manager who will select a positive line-up that is not set-up to be cautious.
I want a manager who will not leave out our most creative players against **** teams.
I want a manager that will make changes at half-time when things aren't going well rather than wait till the 70th or 80th minute when its too late.
I want a manager with a positive approach to the game and not a one that continuously plays a player with no pace as a lone striker

You can't count that against him because he hasn't as yet had to.Originally posted by magicalbarnes View PostNo he is the most over-rated manager ever. He has never won a major league title withoug major backing.
Before anyone pipes up saying 'he won the champions league', that is true however effectively its knockout cup football. We won it with the worst Liverpool team in tears.
The real test is winning a league title (in a major league) on a limited budget, Jose aint done that. To be fair not many managers have but Rafa and Wenger have.
Love him or loathe him he has got results not through the cheque book but through man management. His players would all die for him. The chelsea players nearly all went on strike after he left. Drogba has only just recovered with the arrival of Hiddink/Ancelloti.
Granted his football teams have not played with the elan of a wenger or even a fergie but he has got results. I also think his chelsea team played better football than given credit for. I stated in another thread recently and will state again. He has went unbeaten at home for 8 years across 3 leagues. Astonishing stats.
I have my doubts too about his media style etc but if he came and we won the league again I wouldn't be complaining.

The most incredible thing is that he is unbeaten at home in the league for about 7 or 8 years. Astonishing.
Watching the Milan derby on sunday, Inter took the lead but had a man sent off very early on and Milan started to pressure them. I thought this is it Mourinho is screwed now down to 10 men so Ac Milan are going to turn it around and win this. Yet even with 10 men for most of the game he got his team to keep a clean sheet and win 2-0

I think your analysis is wrong because the team he put out yesterday was an attacking one, with Maxi and Riera on the wings.Originally posted by -V- View PostFredo, your argument Rafa will fix it is pointless because game after game he keeps proving you wrong. And what about the players trying not to lose because of the **** that's been going on before?

Attacking one? With Carragher at right back? With Mascherano and Lucas in the middle? With Kuyt up front alone?Originally posted by PeteBest View PostI think your analysis is wrong because the team he put out yesterday was an attacking one, with Maxi and Riera on the wings.

An attacking one? We had 6 defensive outfield players. We were playing ****ing wolves for goodness sake and we couldn't even create one good chance. Arsenal went there and destroyed them scoring 4 goals and could have been 8 goals. We didn't look like scoring even once and you say we had an attacking team. You are so used to mediocrity that you have accepted it, it amazes me that we have fans who think its ok to go away to teams like Fulham and Pompey and play crap defensive football and go away to relegation fodder like wolves and fail to create any kind of chancesOriginally posted by PeteBest View PostI think your analysis is wrong because the team he put out yesterday was an attacking one, with Maxi and Riera on the wings.

Fickle fans, stop burying your head in the sand. Go watch Arsenal and you'll see the difference between an attacking team and our defensive team

But our first choice right back is injured, Degen is a bit of a headless chicken and Darby is hardly an attacking reserve no?Originally posted by Rich View PostAttacking one? With Carragher at right back? With Mascherano and Lucas in the middle? With Kuyt up front alone?

Agger is injured, so he should have played Skrtel at right back instead of Carra?

You don't know what you're talking about. If you're not happy, go out on the streets and call for Rafa's head. Maybe they're going to hear you from where you are. Either support your team or just **** off mate, this is getting tiresome.

But surely the £200m+ spent at Chelsea helped him a tad?Originally posted by Big-Red-Ed View PostYou can't count that against him because he hasn't as yet had to.
