Lying would be stating something, which is easily presented as a fact, incorrectly and contrary to what the fact is.

The issue of whether potential investors WOULD be significantly put off by seeing fans protesting against G&H, is down to opinion. Maybe in CP's opinion, these potential investors would be put off by it. I dont think it's that clear cut, i think some might be and others wouldnt be. Those who might be put off by it, are either put off because they might be considering following G&H's policy, or more simply, could be put off because they dont have the desire or metal for it - in which case, i wouldnt want them anyway.

It wouldnt even register, compared to the pros of the situation.
every business owner at some stage will come in for flack from some quarter or another but the formation of the SOS is akin to a union or trade association which means organised opposition.

Its a double edged sword - the SOS might help get rid of the current owners and may even support a particular investor to gain control. But sometimes tough decisions have to be made and if business owners think that groups like the SOS may get on their case and cause trouble then they are likely to think twice about investing into the club.

contrary to popular belief not all publicity is good publicity.

He's saying it mainly to appease G&H, who are the ones most bothered by the protests. He's being clever, and if I'm not mistaken, that bit was added by him in his version. He's got to maneuver between RBS, G&H and the fans.

CP: The most difficult part of bringing in investment is the coverage of disturbances or protests at games. Much is overplayed but it gets read. The fact is that the owners are working hard to bring in investment. They are not an obstacle to this process-indeed they started it and bringing me in confirmed it. But it is tough to persuade new investors of the attraction of the club if they think they will get hassled every time they visit. So I again urge you all to think about this aspect and try and do the right thing.

Depends how you read it i guess...

I dont think any serious businessman would give SoS the kind of credit, to assume that they could make a seriously negative impact on the businessman's ability to run their business.

All in all, G&H are in their mess, because they dont seem to have worked out their finances very well - not because SoS march around Anfield.

And then denied that it ever happened by SOS (read the RAWK thread they have up, it's in the first few pages as far as i can remember).

              So again, CP is lying?

from my own personal experiences of several other sites before I settled on this one, the majority of the other sites seem to be run by a group of people and if you don't agree with them then you get harassed / bulllied out of the site, on one particular site I remember one of the mods told me it was their site and to leave because I didn't agree with something, this one (up to now) has been good at letting everyone have an opinion without any attempts to change your opinion to match theirs for fear of reprisal

In my opinion, his version of the minutes is further away from the truth and he's made that version to distance himself from the controversial comments he knew were going to get out.

how many column inches have been written about hicks and gillett over the past 18 months or so. How much of that negativity had been brought upon by the SOS who were given credibility by Bill Shankly's grandaughter Karen.

The SOS are real mate and they are a pain in GH's backside. No business needs the amount of negative publicity that we have had recently and its off putting to investors.

No one wants to come to a club where there's trouble on the pitch and in the stands.

I think what puts investors off is G&H demanding £100m for a 25% stake, not some supporters' union who have every reason to be pissed off at their owners.

So why make the alleged comments in the first place then? Did CP let himself get riled by a bunch of no-marks who think having a business degree makes them all powerful in the world of corporate finance?

Well a lot of it was brought on by themselves, and much of it was deserved, with idiotic statements and the like, the media didn't need sos's help imo, even though they gladly took advantage of it.

and in my opinion, sos have allowed sentiment to sway their recollection of events rather than state facts which CP having been involved in issues like this before has
