    2) Peinaars tackle looked worse every time you saw if and the referee had a great view. Should have been a red but I actually think having one of their more flair players in a seemingly perpetual petty rage all match (well certainly from Carra's challenge on) worked in our favour.
    3) While I can see an argument for Fellaini being punished too the Kyrgiakos challenge was a shocker and if you go in off the floor two footed then that is going to be a red card all day every day. Awful decision making by him.

    On Babel:
Seems to be a topic on conversation about how poor he was and I'm not about to say he was great. He did seem to be given a different role to Ngog though - to be more of a threat with his pace - his positioning was never that of someone who had been told to close people down or hold the ball up - he was deeper and always in space.

It was something I noticed in the fist half that Everton were leaving space in midfield so you could play balls into attacking players to run at their defense with relative ease. I thought bringing Babel on to run from deeper would have been a good idea then. It was a surprise that Ngog was the one to make way but then everyone else had done well too and he was the one player most likely to become tired and that have a negative effect on his impact.
    That was brilliant.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

      Agree with this.

I dont know what babel`s instructions were but i remember thinking to myself, Is he after smoking ten joints?? At times he looked like he wasnt sure where he was, some of his movemnt mad no sense, balls he could have intercepted, he didnt bother. I used to fear that if we sold babel to the likes of arsenic wenger he would turn him into a graet footballer. Im now convinced he will never be a "Great" footballer, simply because he does not have the brain for it, he doesnt seem to have anough passion for the game either. For them reasons i think we should cut our losses in the summer and put the cash towards a decent striker.

The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Totally agree. I didnt want to criticise too much after a derby win, but he was utterly useless and i cant quite figure out if he's insanely lazy, or just too stupid to realise that he needs to put some effort in.

            Maybe both.

I've said that about him for ages. However he has in other games this season very obviously been putting the effort in. I just think he lacks the instincts to track down well and the intelligence to learn or adapt his game in any way. I honestly think that much of the problem yesterday was down to his indecision rather than any lack of want to do anything (although I accept that this position is largely speculative). He just looked lost to me.

I think he needs to be treated a bit like Rafa did with Cisse - i.e. start from deep and run really fast. It uses his best asset and requires the least game intelligence.

Every one of our players was outstanding but Babel. He looked knackered after 5 minutes. Didn't win a header and for someone who's trying to save his LFC career he needs to take a leaf out of Dirk Kuyts book. I'm not Kuyt's biggest fan but fair dues, he was incredible yesterday. We always rave about 30 yard screamers etc but that goal was a thing of beauty! Kuyt cleverly gains himself no more than half a yard of space in front of Howard and Stevie picks him out!! Not enough credit given to both for that. Star men all over the pitch - Carra, Pepe, Insua, Gerrard all excellent, but Masch and Dirk were incredible. Great to see that passion is back. It's a long road but roll on the Gunners.

I agree with the earlier poster, i've never felt Gray is anti-liverpool but is a fair commentator, remember his reaction to gerards goal in europe a few years ago, funny how people forget that.

Anyway even if he was biased for Everton today (and i don't think he was), what's wrong with that, he played for them for god's sake, people on hear would be the first to give out if a Liverpool player wasn't biased in our favour.

                        What. The. ****?

Everton's plan was to make it war. That was obvious. They thought they were tougher than us, that we'd wilt in the face of their roughhouse dogs of war tactics. Well **** you, yard dogs! They wanted a fight, got one and ****ing lost.

I'm still thrilled today that we won it and our rivals for fourth drew at the same time and lost to hull of all

And have to say the look on kuyt's face after he scored was magnificent

I can watch a win over and over again.
