What's our domestic league got to do with being the top European team? No correlation whatsoever. Spain, Italy and England have dominated the CL for a decade yet can only boast one league champion each year. By your reckoning the best teams in Europe must include Dynamo Kiev and Levski Sofia as they've constantly won their domestic league, no? We'd walk almost all the leagues in europe bar perhaps only Spain, and obviously EnglandOriginally posted by carheex View PostYeah, cheeky ****er!!! We've not won our domestic league for 20 years so we must be europe's top team....no?
Having just looked up some stats, HALF of the last 10 champions league winners have won it after not having won their league the season before.
2009 Barcelona no
2008 scum yes
2007 AC Milan no
2006 Barcelona yes
2005 Liverpool no
2004 Porto yes
2003 AC Milan no
2002 Real Madrid yes
2001 Bayern Munich yes
2000 Real Madrid no

I'm from Belgium and I'm sure that Jovanovic can add something to the squad. He would fit perfectly next to Torres. Like our Spanish God, he's lightning quick and is deadly in front of goal. Unfortunately he's also injury prone.
We could also play him in left midfield, he's got a great cross for that.
If he plays regularly, I'm sure he'll bag 10 goals and bring a couple assists. As a fan, you'll love him instantly. Every game he runs and works his heart out and when he scores he gets crazy. His interviews are wonderfull too. Don't be misguided because of his age and the league he plays in. He's had problems coming here because of strict rules in his country.

How can you make such a wild claim based purely on your blinkered view of our club, and use it as evidence to suggest we are probably europe's best team?!?!?

Of course, I have no idea how he will do, but I just don't see any of these half decent players making us significantly better. Yes, rafa's hands are tied by finances, but I just don't have faith that rafa will pick up bargains who blossom and take the league by storm. It hasn't happened recently and I don't think it will.Trey Nyoni: countdown to stardom-2 years1year0.5 years
