I don't see how people are making an assumption that if we put out a strong team in the Europa, that we won't finish 4th.

Don't forget, most of this group of players are used to being involved in other competitions towards the end of the season.

Yes the priority is the league but we have enough players to make a go of the Europa too.

It's just about the injury risk. The way this season has been, players would probably get injured stepping off the coach in Romania.

I'd just play percentages - if key players are left out, they wont get injured.

Given our current financial situation it would seem absolutely crucial that we qualify for the CL next season, especially if we have any desire to be challenging for titles for the next few years. FAR more important than winning the UEFA cup. Of course it would be nice to win a trophy but the future of the club and the chance to be winning bigger trophies in future has to be our focus.

I'd field a Carling Cup type squad, personally.

I'm torn on this one, on one hand it'd be nice to try and win a trophy, on the other hand we have to ensure we get a top 4 finish, and giving the youngsters games would be a good thing.

this injury to carra shows we need to start resting him in non-essential games......starting with the waste of a competition that is the Europa league.

Lets face it lads we needto win this Europa league for confidence in the squad, its all very well this romantic notiobn of concentrating on 4th spot but we need to do both.

Players play for trophies and this Europa league could be good for keeping morale high and possibly giving us something to build on next season.

I wont be complaining about the quality of the competition if we make the final let me tell you.

I'd like to see us field a team of 6-7 first teamers mixed with youngsters personally. Aquilani should start. Rest gerrard. Play babel and degen. Would like to see pacheco and Kelly / darby (at least) given games from the reserves.
