It so so hard to watch us these days as we should be hammering teams like that without getting out of 2nd gear. We are crying out for creativity and Aquilani can go back to Italy as i dont think he will cut it at liverpool.

Well thank god that is over.

We were appalling, they were appalling, the ref was appalling and five tv was appalling.

The only thing good about that was that we actually managed to win, just.

      Oh and Babel and Pacheco.

What do people expect against a team with no intent of attacking? It was always going to be tough, they are not that bad a team.

Dire pitiful display, completely devoid of tempo or attacking thrust. Embarrassing.

Caution and negativity has flowed through this team like a disease for so long, that they dont even know how to play with tempo, move the ball quickly and create openings.

Woefully poor although i'm sure there'll be apologists ready to tell us that it's acceptable or good enough, because the opposition packed their defence...like the majority of visiting teams to Anfield will do.

Just goes to show that Pacheco must be even closer to starting a game IMO.

That game for me illustrates how badly we lack creativity. We're all graft and no craft. We won eventually, it should have been more though given the possession we had. But aside from the goal I can't remember us creating anything that was really more than a half chance.

Babel made a huge difference when he came on, changed the game and was man of the match for me. Gerrard showed some flashes of his best, which is promising. Aquilani and Riera looked off the pace. Pacheco was good he was always wanting the ball, he has confidence and creativity which are things we are lacking at the moment.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Nothing knee jerk about that. If you think we have enough creativity fair enough. I don't its as simple as that. Also look in the match thread and i am not the only one who thought that was ****.

It's like Aqualani thinks we have the quality outwide to get away with just strolling the ball around in the middle. Wasn't until we saw pace on the wing and Gerrard in the middle passing the ball about that we actually looked like we'd get anything from this game. Miserable game.

Not so sure - it's hard to break a team down when they have absolutely no ambition at all.

We'll get at least a draw away from home without breaking sweat. Just a shame that we'll have to take a few of our best players now. Much as I've slagged him in the past, Babel earned a start against City with his effort when he came on tonight. Unfortunately I don't think he'll get it, and we'll start with Aurelio in front of Insua as our most solid left-side.

I know what you mean, they were always going to make it difficult for us, but we barely created anything more than a half chance, we lack players who can open up these type of tight defences
