We've now not scored in our last 3 away games (Wolves, Arsenal and Man City), and we've only scored 10 goals in our last 10 games. We need Torres to get back scoring asap!
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.
Games like this are always **** though, like when we play United it is nearly always a **** game, same with games v Chelsea, hardly a surprise. Shame our passing was so poor though, especially in the final third, it seemed that we were trying to be far to intricate when a good cross may have helped.
At least we see goals and passion in our recent Chelsea & United games, so that's not much of a comparision at all really.
It's not the result but the fact we offered nothing attack wise again. We have enough in that team to create chances but we have not. I think rafa is under so much pressure that he is setting the team up not to lose rather than go for the win.
But it hasn't worked for most of this season, hasn't exactly clicked even with Torres in front of him. It was an approach that worked well with Alonso behind Gerrard and players hugging the touch line.
Stevie in that position is absolutely fine, after all he has scored a hell of a lot of goals from there but he also scored a lot of goals from the right and I wonder if he would be better putting him out there and let Aquilani play behind the striker.
Aquilani may not be playing out of his skin but one thing I have noticed is that he always seems to be in space which most of the rest of the team seem unable to do.
Mascher was his usual self - some good tackles and positional play balanced by wank passing. He was lucky not to get a second yellow for his tackle on Barry near the end.
