That's the thing, you dont need to be knocked off your feet for it to be a foul, and it was a clear pen - if the ref's too incompetent to realise that a foul is still a foul even if the player doesnt fall, then i've no qualms with going to ground to ensure you get the decision. Disappointed with Yossi. Saw Adebayor saying how good it was of Yossi and how he respects him for it - hypocritical cheating cunt that he is, you can bet he would've gone straight to ground.

This might be a cynical view but I think that it has got to a point now where going down when fouled is so common that, referees are starting to assume if you stay on your feet you weren't fouled (especially in the box). Can anyone remember many incidents where someone has stayed on their feet after being fouled and been awarded a penalty? I'm struggling to remember the last one.

If its true that Tevez' daughter was born prematurely and is now in intensive care then its pathetic to be ordering him back to work. If you buy players from the other side of the world then you have to be sensitive to their family needs too.
How can you order a guy to come back to work when his new-born daughter is in intensive care on another continent?

It's totally irrelevant if you believe that anyway. As a supporter I really, really don't care how we play. I'll take a goal-less away draw against a team higher in the league than us any day of the week. I'd also be very happy with scrappy one-nil wins with lucky deflections or own goals for the rest of the season.

For me it's how many points we end up with rather than how we play that matters. That's been the way since I started going to the game 45 years ago. If we happen to have played well so be it, but I always get just as much pleasure from an away draw or a lucky win when playing badly as I ever do from some swash-buckling high-scoring win

At the end of the day I'm a supporter so I follow Liverpool blindly no matter how we play or where we are in the league.

If I wanted entertainment I'd never watch any football at all, I'd go to the pictures. In supporting a team entertainment is way down the list. Getting to the best position you can in a tournament is all that matters. Those who prattle on about being bored by their own team and wanting entertainment really don't sound very much like true supporters to me. But then I'm not one of mentally-feeble Facebook generation

Cos City's form is dire.

I personally would still have City as favourites because of their squad. Bellamy falling out with Mancini doesn't really mean anything, he will still try and when he came on yesterday he made a difference. When they get Tevez back he will make a big difference.

My thought is, after looking at all four teams is that I would put us as the least favourites, which I really don't like to/want to do, as I can see us drawing too many games just like last year. I can also see the other three winning more games than us and I just put this down to how lacking we are going forward.

One thing I have been wondering about as to the reason why we have been so bad this season is, did last season just missing out on the title mentally affect the players so bad that they just don't believe they can do it.

That is not the case according to the BBC, sounds like the press making a sensational story out of a managers comment without checking the facts first (who would of thought?)

Manchester City grant Carlos Tevez more time off

Tevez has scored 19 goals since joining City from Manchester United

Manchester City will allow striker Carlos Tevez as much time off as he needs after his baby daughter was born prematurely, BBC Sport understands.
Tevez, 26, has missed City's last three games after being granted compassionate leave to fly to Argentina where his daughter, Katie, is in intensive care.

Club officials have spoken to Tevez but do not know when he plans to return.

Roberto Mancini's men face Stoke in the FA Cup on Wednesday and play Premier League leaders Chelsea on Saturday.

City manager Mancini hopes to have Tevez available for those matches but has not spoken to the Argentine, who has scored 19 goals since joining City from local rivals Manchester United last summer, since Wednesday.

The club do not know the player's exact whereabouts because they are treating the matter as private and personal, so do not wish to bombard to him with telephone calls.

"I don't know where Tevez is," said Mancini after Sunday's 0-0 draw with Liverpool dropped them to sixth place in the table. "I think he is in Argentina.

"It's a big problem for us because we have an important week and we don't have Tevez. For me it is no good. Carlos has been eight days at home and I don't know if, while in Argentina, he has been working (on his fitness).

"I hope Carlos, within the next two days, can come back here because we need him. Maybe he is on the plane. He had some problems with his family but now it has been resolved and I hope he comes back. I need him."

As well as missing Tevez, Mancini is also without suspended midfielder Patrick Vieira and injured winger Martin Petrov, while striker Roque Santa Cruz has a knee injury.

City have won only two of their last seven matches in all competitions and Sunday's draw meant both they and Liverpool lost ground in the race for fourth spot, with Tottenham and Aston Villa both winning.

"Against Liverpool it is not easy to win the game, we tried but Liverpool are a good team," added Mancini.

"At the end of the game the draw was the right result as we didn't concede any chances to Liverpool and they did not concede any chances to us."

I agree almost completely with what you are saying. I've said many times that I'm not bothered how we play as long as we win whether it be 6-0 or 1-0 with a lucky deflection off a beach ball!!

However I must admit I don't take pleasure in a goal-less away draw against a team higher up in the table that I believe shouldn't be there and that's not from the thinking that we have a god given right to be at the top of the league I just don't think we should be fighting with the likes of ****ty, Villa and Spurs. After last season we should be fighting for the title but we're not we're in a hell of a battle for fourth but I still can't take pleasure in a goal-less draw with any team in the Premiership with the exception of the big three!

Man U have won plenty of league titles playin ugly scrappy football, last minutes goals etc.... Particularly in the Prem, it shouldnt matter how you win (cheating and diving aside), as long as your winning.
