when we build a new stadium I think we can afford to reduce prices and still generate much more money.
If we had 50,000 season ticket holders paying an average of £500 each, that would generate £25m.
If we had 10,000 fan card tickets per game, each ticket costing £28, that would be £5.04m.
If we had 10,000 corporate tickets paying an average of £200 per game, that would be £36m.
thats £66m before:-
Match day advertising
programmes
the shop
pies/beer/snacks
betting
cup games
european games
away fans
That would give us the lowest ticket prices in the top 4, and lower than all london clubs

We'd hardly ever fill it.Originally posted by ukfootballfan101 View PostFor me I think we should be looking to build somewhere around 80,000:-
50,000 Season tickets
10,000 fan club tickets
10,000 corporate
5,000 away fans
5,000 other (league officials, former players, tickets for player familes, staff etc etc)
I dont think we'd get 50k ST holders, although maybe close to it.
The members ticket allocation doesnt always sell out, and i doubt 10k corporates would be arsed with Liverpool v Hull on cold tuesday night.
5k away fans. Hmm, did you see the away end on Sunday?
80k is about a third more than we'd need.

Or we could keep the prices the same...what would that generate?

I think we would, I'm not a season ticket holder and I don't have a fan card, if I had the chance of a season ticket I would get one and I know loads of fans who feel the same, a few years back it was so hard to get tickets that loads of people just gave up trying and many people don't know you can get a fan card and easily get tickets at the moment.Originally posted by Craig_H View PostWe'd hardly ever fill it.

There are already 20k-30k of season ticket holders and 50k of people on the offical waiting list, I'm not and I only know one person who is so they could easily sell 50k in season tickets, I bet we could sell even more than that.
Its hard to work out as we band games and we have different season ticket pricess depending on where you're sat etc.Originally posted by Scratch View PostOr we could keep the prices the same...what would that generate?
Does anyone have our corporate ticket price info?

Do you really think all 50k (for example) on the waiting list, are STILL in a position now, to buy a ST?
They probably went on the list decades ago, before they had mortgages, families and financial commitments of this ilk. A portion of them wont even still be alive.
I dont think 50k would be a million miles off, but i wouldnt put my house on it definitively. You might be right, i think it'd be touch and go.

I know what you're saying but I really think we could quite easily get 50k of season ticket holders.Originally posted by Craig_H View PostDo you really think all 50k (for example) on the waiting list, are STILL in a position now, to buy a ST?

Lets say there are currently 25k - I'm not sure what the current number is, it could be higher.
That means to reach 50k we would only need half the people on the list to buy one, and like I said, I know loads of people who would get one (or share one) who aren't on the list.
It could also work the other way, someone might have put their name down 10 years ago, they now have kids and a good job, they might want 2, one for them and one for one of their kids..
I think they would sell out in a very short period. You also have the whole appeal of a new stadium etc, every clun in every sport have seen an increase in match going fans after opening a new stadium.

A bigger ground creates a different mentality. People who currently don't try to get tickets because it is so much hassle will suddenly start buying tickets for many games because it is so easy. (It is the Arsenal syndrome.)Originally posted by Craig_H View PostWe'd hardly ever fill it.

Good old Craig finding another thread to argue about
We might not fill 80,000 every single week, Man U and Arsenal don't but even if we averaged 65,000 per home game over a season that's 20,000 more than we currently get at £35 a ticket (probably more)
20,000 x £35 = £700,000 x 20 home games = £14,000,000.
Plus the increased merchandising spent by the additional 20,000 to 35,000 extra fans. The King was back for a short while. Long live The King.

filling it would come down to the ticket prices.
A kop ticket is £35 at the moment.
United are stuggling to sell out at the moment as they have hiked up the prices so much since the glazers took over.
If we priced ours at:-
normal league games/champions league group stage & knock out = £30 - £35
carling cup/european qualifiers/europa league up to quarter finals = £15 - £20
FA Cup = £20 - £25
Friendlies = £5 - £10
I think the stadium would be full or close to full for most games.

Yeah, we should make a rule where people can only post if they agree.Originally posted by The Birdman View PostGood old Craig finding another thread to argue about
