Players bought by Rafa who took us within a whisker of the title and consistently at the business end of the CL.

Now they're playing like this. It's inexcusable.

Enough is enough but I am appalled by most of our players - cowardly, gutless glory boys who only apply themselves properly when the sun is shining on their arses.

I think the rot set in after the first game. A season of so much promise went tits up at Spurs and they lost heart. There's no excuse for that. Teams have won the title having lost the first game but I'm convinced the rot set in there.

It is not black and white and Rafa is not 100% to blame. He's accountable cos he's the manager and he has to go, but I'd sell the majority of these ****houses too. Their attitude is ****ing disgraceful.

Summed up quite simply - Wigan wanted to win more than us - lord knows why, but they did.

Like you said mate, he is accountable cos he is the gaffa, but **** me some of those ****s need to have a long hard ****ing look at themselves...
We are about to rule; again.

but why are they playing like this ......surley after going so close last season they would have been desperate to go one better ......i stick to my original view that they don't want to play for the manager hence the poor displays

that's incredibly fickle. if they can't find a reason to play, then they should retire. the club, the fans, showing that they have a pair...there are plenty of reasons to not get embarrassed on live tv. they can pick one, i don't really care.

might be fickle to you but can you think of another plausible reason ?

The attitude and last night the inability to do the basics, control the ball and pass it 10 yards sideways. No passion no desire!

Right now you would rather have the Portsmouth players in your side, a bunch of players who know they are down and dont know if they are going to get paid but give 100% for the team and fans.

At the moment some of our players arent giving 5% and cant be ****ed

Also they should apologise to the 4000 that turned up last night and had to watch them serve up that ****e!

lack of ambition? lack of guts? lack of the ability to go out and roll up their sleeves and put in a shift when the going get rough? yes, the manager is involved, but they are grown men, and they know better.

Might as well make wholesale changes and start the process again - everybody is available apart from Reina. I'd hate to see Torres go but we will need the £80m or whatever to fundamentally begin again.

I'd keep Reina, Torres, Mascherano and Johnson. Everyone else can sod off.

in the style of rafa "i'm totally butt-****ing lfc and dont seem to realise it" benitez :

i can garauntee we will not finish in the top 4 and on form this season we wont even make top 6 and europa league football. on the basis of this season we dont even deserve it.

torres, reina, mash, gerard to go in the summer if we fail to get european football and you cant blame them if they do go.

last night was the worst football played in the league this year........and not just for lfc!!!!

how can martin o'neil inspire a team who were playing **** and 2-0 down at the break to come out against reading second half and blow them away with some exciting good football and score 4, but last night after a dismal first 45 mins we come out after half time and play even worse!!!!!

to say you wont play aqua cause the team isnt playing well so you cant make changes cause that would be worse is a ****ing joke rafa. we are playing **** so that is why you must make changes!!!

to drop babel again after 2 really good performances is a pathetic decision.

simply put, rafa must go and with no european football next year we'd be lucky to get curbishly as manager next year. cheers rafa for ****ing the club!!!!!
People who think there's no good way to die have obviously never heard the phrase 'Drug-fuelled-sex-heart-attack'.

as much as i hate the idea of becoming a selling club, if that's what needs to be done to stop the rot, then it must be done. i dunno if that's the way forward, but.

There are two areas of responsibility here.

Rafa picks the team, decides on the tactics, motivates the team and makes any necessary changes during the game.

The players take the above information on board and play with passion and intelligence.

Unfortunately, none of that is happening or is failing big time. As far as I'm concerned the blame is on both parties.

I admire Rafa - like Houllier before - but it just isn't working and I can't see it changing.

"Being skint is not the reason" Wigan beat us and they haven't got a bean to rub together.

I'd allow both Mascherano and Johnson to leave. I'm not convinced that Johnson is that good to be honest, and Mascherano needs to play in a team where the 4/5 players in front of him are all skilled so he can just do what he's amazing at doing - the ugly side of midfield. So I'd reluctantly sell.

Couldn't agree more. The players undoubtedly have to take a fair amount of the blame. Their attitude and commitment has been woeful this season. So true about it all going wrong from day one. In fact I would go further than that and say it started in pre-season! We had a poor pre-season and took it into the first game v Spurs and haven't been right since. I can barely recall a game where I have thought at the end, 'we played really well there'.

Sadly though I now think Rafa has to go in the summer. How often have we seen this situation where a team plays badly, changes the manager, and the same group of players then start to play well. Happens all the time. Sadly somethinig has gone wrong between what is essentially the same group (bar Alonso) who nearly won the league last season, and the manager, and when that happens it is always the players who come out on top. Something is stale at the club and Rafa will pay the price.

Roll on the end of the season so we can get this **** over with.

We're so bad that no-one has taken the piss out of me for losing at Wigan, my father in law supports Utd, my dad supports Arsenal, various mates support all different teams to Liverpool and not 1 text message of abuse or gloating.

We've become such a laughing stock that it isn't even a surprise when we lose away to Wigan.
Gutless, spineless cunts, my son wants to support someone else because of the stick he gets in school day in day out is making his life hell at the moment.
