    It just doesnt work.
sometimes worse - sometimes it's torres chasing the ball into the channels, winning it, looking up and there is ****ing zero there.

There is so much wrong, and this what infuriates me with rafa - he just seems so inflexible, and unwilling to change his ideas.

I always bring this up - but why why why do we always, regardless of the situation be it 10-0 up at home or 10-0 down away, always have 11 men defending a corner - you just don't need to do it ALLLLL the time.

That said at the moment i would have 10 Kuyt's or lucas' in the side showing a bit of pride & commitment, than the rest of the motley crew.

What amazes me is that Rafa picked:

Pepe Reina International & should be his countries no1
      Jamie Carragher International, (albeit retired)
      Sotirios Kyrgiakos International Captain
      Emiliano Insua International
      Steven Gerrard WORLD CLASS
      Lucas Leiva International
      Javier Mascherano International Captain
      Dirk Kuyt International
      Fernando Torres WORLD CLASS
      Yossi Benayoun International Captain
      Rodriguez Maxi International
      Substitutes
      Diego Cavalieri
      Glen Johnson International
      Daniel Agger International
      Albert Riera International
      Alberto Aquilani International
      David Ngog
      Ryan Babel International

AND TO A MAN THEY WERE DREADFUL
I'd add reina as world class and totally agree - what the **** has happened. Do we just sign the worse internationals going

Are you ****ing kidding me? Went there 2 years ago & it was amazing- right up there with the Maldives & Whitehaven beach (Whitsundays)!

Wasnt "run down & tatty at all." Where did you stay?

Agreed Reina is world class, but Spain are in love with the RM Keeper.

It's the style of play & negative approach, i seriously believe the players have been worn down by the attention to detail & have forgotten how to play without fear of conceeding/losing.

I asked you a question. Answer it.

And if we added up all your posts in your various guises, both on here and the forums from which you've been booted, you'd be looking at some tally.

i just don't get it - i don't understand where we go wrong, is it the manager, the training, the coaches, our scouting system or the players themselves or just a bit off everything

take - and before everyone kicks off, it's just an example - Dirk Kuyt.

can't fault him for his unbelievable work rate and determination, comes across as a model pro

but.....is he the most technically inept dutch international ever!! I thought the dutch were meant to excel at things like first touch and passing - drilled into them as kids etc

it's not just him though = i have been alarmed this season at how poor technically we are - confidence has to be a major factor in this but there has to be more to it. But i can't believe how many times this season every player seems to have struggled with what, for their level (international, premier league, and champions league footballers) should be bread and butter.

First touch should control the ball and shield it from the opposition and make your 2nd touch or next movement as easy as possible.

passing to a team mate especially when not under pressure from an opponent should be to feet or in front of the man you are passing to, making it as easy as possible for your mate to recieve it, not behind him so he has stop and turn back or stretch for it, meaning the above happens - **** first touch.

beat the first man when crossing from open play/free kick/corners

being able to recieve the ball and turn to face goalwards. How many times this season have you had the liverpools fans scream...."TURN" - then followed by groans when the player recieving the ball takes one touch (usually badly probably because the pass to him was poor making him stretch as above two points ) and so is forced to pass it back the way he was facing

shoot from distance - don't hestitate, every now and then just but your ****ing laces through it.

In a nutshell I think the team r bored of negative tactics, bored of playing in shackled.

I mean torres was defending in the last 5 mins why the **** do we never leave a striker higher up the ouch when defending corners .

You could pay me what they get paid to work the hours they do & you'd find my boredom threshold would be very high indeed. They are a disgrace.

only the worst teams will set up in a formation in which you can pick holes without even trying. Otherwise, you have to move players around to make the spaces.

Beating players is crucial, as if you can get past a man, another defender / defensive player has to leave their position and come at you. As soon as this second player leaves their post the space for a pass or run has been created.

Other times, clever forward movement means that your marker has to track you and leave their space - thus creating another opening.

The theory is that your wide players have to be able to get past their fullbacks because this means that the defenisive midfielders near them have to get closer as theii winger has followed your fullback. This leaves more space in the middle for a forward run and a quick pass can create all sorts of openings.

If the other team doesnt think you can hurt them or move them around they only have to defend in two lines of 4 and getting through is almost impossible.

Its like playing five a side where most goals are scored on the counter. If you try and break down a team from the off its quite difficult because the other team defends the space really well. You set yourself out and say come on then try and break us down.

You have to earn the right to play football and at the moment we dont have to tools to open teams up or should I say we arent using the right tools for the job.
