I suppose it means they have signed a not very good defender.

Senderos is manager Roy Hodgson's first summer signing and he is delighted to welcome the player to Craven Cottage.
Hodgson:"Philippe is a player that I have admired for a very long time since he captained Switzerland to the Uefa Under-17 championship in 2002,"

"He is a strong defender who has great aerial presence at both ends of the field and has a superb work ethic which is a vital component for any team's success. I am very much looking forward to working with him next season."

With our lack o f money, I think Hodgson would be ideal. He has proved with Fulham that he can do great things with very little. With a squad like ours, way better than theirs, he should be well placed to lead us to greater things.

I so hope we don't end up with Woy

He thinks this of Senderos FFS

"Philippe is a player that I have admired for a vewy long time since he captained Switzerland to the Uefa Under-17 championship in 2002," said Hodgson.

"He is a vewy stwong defender who has gweat aewial pwesence at both ends of the field and has a superb work ethic which is a vital component for any team's success. I am vewy much looking forward to working with him next season."

                    Hodgson agrees Anfield deal?

So far unconfirmed reports are suggesting Fulham boss Roy Hodgson has agreed to succeed Rafael Benitez as Liverpool manager.

The 62-year-old has managed extensively across Europe at club and international level.

Domestically he took the reins at Blackburn Rovers helping the Lancashire club qualify for the UEFA Cup at the end of his first season but was dismissed early in the nexy campaign.

Brought to Craven Cottage just after Christmas Day in 2007 he guided Fulham to their highest ever Premiership placing then the Europa League final last term.

Benitez replaced Jose Mourinho at Inter Milan - one of Hodgson's former clubs - on Tuesday evening.

QUOTE=fordy434;1619157]I would happily have Hodgson. He took over Inter Milan twice, in troubling times for them, he took over once when ther were in the relegation zone after 10 or so games and finished in a European place and got to the UEFA cup final. He managed Malmo, during this time he knocked Real Madrid and Celtic out of the Champioins League and was offered a life time contract by the club. He has done an excellent job at Fulham and is a no nonsense manager who would surely have the respect of the players and the fans.[/QUOTE]

GPWM. He may not be sexy and exciting, but if you look at the job in hand and what Hodgson brings to the table, he ticks a lot of boxes.

                              - Experience of managing top flight team
                              - European experience (plus languages)
                              - Working within tight financial constraints
                              - Improving existing (average) squads
                              - Familiarity with Englsh league.

Not good enough and a massive step down.
