Well he did spend 5 seasons managing Barca so I cannot say that he is inexperienced. He won La Liga titles twice with them and he is the one credited with bringing Xavi and Iniesta (just to name few) from their youth system to the first team.

      Yeah, but he's not 62.

                  This one does.

Hodgson to meet with Liverpool FC

Roy Hodgson is to return to England following his brief stint commentating for the BBC at the World Cup.

With Capello’s men safely through to the last 16 his high hopes that the FA may call on him to take up the England job appear to have receded and it is believed the Liverpool FC board have now decided that Roy is Liverpool’s number one target.

Liverpool are believed to have interviewed Martin O’Neill, Manuel Pellegrini and Alex McLeish as part of the search but are now shifting their focus back on to the Fulham boss.

The appointment could affect Kenny Dalglish’s future at the club. The former manager and player is believed to have been disappointed by being snubbed by the board.

The reds have been without a manager for 21 days and are keen to tie up a deal before more Liverpool players complete their World Cup campaigns. Milan Jovanovic is one player who will now be seeking to secure and clarify his future.

Odds 'slashed' on Rikjaard from 40-1 when I put a quid on this morning to 25-1 now thanks to the Sky article. Almost a dead cert

As for Woy overachieving at Fulham - did he really do that he finished 12th behind Stoke and Blackburn

I dont think Woy overachieved I think he did an ok job no more no less

Overachieving to me is what Ipswich did a few years ago, or Moyes did a few years back when he got 4th
Well they were looking down the relegation barrel when he took over. And he took them to a european final - that's definitely an overachievement.

The question was reasonable and could have been answered without reference to you no changing you mind in a pretty blatant fashion. 6 months ago, when you were critical of Rafa and saying another manager could get more out of the players Rafa has available (which I agreed with BTW), would you have included Roy in that. I don't think I would.
