What do you think is wrong with Deschamps? He's only 41 and on his CV already has a League Cup and CL Final with Monaco, Serie B title with Juventus and starting on - 9 points (not a great achievement when you still have Buffon, Nedved etc granted) and has just won Marseille their first league title in 18 years and a Cup to go with it. Thats a hell of a record for a manager that age.

I'd take Dids hes certainly preferable to Hodgson imoOriginally posted by Chris View PostWhat do you think is wrong with Deschamps? deschamps isnt exactly gonna be a favourable appointment and not one to get the players / fans excited but if purslow and the yanks really are going to be ****ing annoying pricks and discount the king returning then we really have got slim pickings . . . . . . . .in which case a straight fight between hodgson and didier is a no brainer - deschamps by a country mile.People who think there's no good way to die have obviously never heard the phrase 'Drug-fuelled-sex-heart-attack'.

All the papers and media know which manager will be appointed by Liverpool FC
Non of the internet ITK's know who will be appointed.
All the internet forum ITK's know that we are going to be taken over soon
Non of the Papers and media are writting anything about LFC being taken over.
The truth..we do not have a manager and we will not be taken over soon

Monaco and Juventus was very good aswell, he does have his disagreements with the board though.
I agree he'd be an interesting choice. He does have winning mentality not only as a very good player player (won pretty much everything on club's and national level) but also as young and promissing manager.
I'd take him over Woy.Member #1 of the Luis Suarez fan club

Liverpool look to Marseille coach Didier Deschamps as Roy Hodgson remains undecided on Anfield hot seat
Liverpool have targeted Didier Deschamps as their new manager as Roy Hodgson stalls over a final decision regarding the Merseyside club.
The Fulham manager has been heavily linked with the Anfield job, but Goal.com UK revealed on Friday that the instability in the boardroom has prevented Hodgson from making a final decision regarding the Anfield hot seat.
Liverpool appear to have now turned their attention to Deschamps, as time is running out before preparations get underway for the new season.
“The Liverpool chief executive, Christian Purslow, called me Thursday afternoon,” said Jean-Claude Dassier, Marseille’s president, in L'Equipe.
“He speaks French very well and he’s is very courteous. I was waiting for his call from Liverpool for the interest in Didier. He asked me if I allowed him to meet Didier and Jean - Pierre Bernes. I replied that I did not allow any meeting to take place. I have also indicated that there is no way we’ll let go of our coach.”
“Didier says we have relationship built on trust. I hope he will stay with us for one more year. I am not worried about the fact that he has been linked with a move away. It is also true that Didier is flattered to see a big European club interested in him.”
Marseille wanted to extend Deschamps’ contract for another two seasons but the Frenchman has only agreed to stay one more year.
Deschamps’ nine-year managerial career has involved roles at Monaco, where in 2004 he reached the final of the UEFA Champions League and Juventus.
Hodgson has been monitoring England’s progress in the World Cup, and should Fabio Capello resign after the tournament, he could be inclined to take that role over the vacancy at Liverpool.
Manuel Pellegrini, Martin O'Neill, Slaven Bilic and Mark Hughes have also been linked with the Liverpool job.Member #1 of the Luis Suarez fan club

I wonder how many of those touting for Kenny actually remember the last couple of seasons he had as a manager. For example, the purchase of Speedie and Carter, the failure to bring in new blood every season that in the end meant that his successors had to deal with two many oldsters in it; a problem that was the source of our loss of position as the best team in England.Originally posted by liverpooltj View PostOne name mate.

In many ways Kenny as the new manager would be a completely unknown quantity and I really don't understand all these people who argue for that unknown quantity (or other unknown quantities like Lippi as a club manager).
Kenny the player was a hero, and so was Kenny the manager initially. Kenny the man is still my hero. But Kenny as the new manager would be a huge gamble.

Why is it a no brainer? Many people might think Kenny is the right choice, but few would suggest that it is a no brainer.Originally posted by liverpooltj View PostThe fact that Kenny has stepped forward for the job and not been picked is the biggest ****ter. If Kenny had not stepped forward then fair enough Roy should been given a fair crack but Kenny did step forward and it is a no brainer for the board who will no doubt **** it up and get a yes man in who will allow the sale of our best players.
