Uncertainty at Liverpool has increased, with owners Tom Hicks and George Gillett in talks to sell the club to an unnamed party from the Middle East.

The asking price has dropped to about £560m from an original valuation of £800m and the new owners are likely to target Guus Hiddink if the manager’s post has not been filled.

    Forwards.......

New owners and Woy still doesn't excite me as much as new owners and GUUS

I believe that had liverpool not had new owners lined up then they would have gone with Dalglish, and the fact that Dalglish hasnt been made the manager(caretaker) suggests that new ownership is imminent.
Jacques Brel is alive and well and playing at Anfield

Not really because I pretty much doubt the new owners would want Roy Hodgson as manager!

Which basically means nobody has a hope of keeping them so we may as well get Roy in.Getting the excuses in early Purslow

I'd like to believe you but I don't see your logic IF we appoint Woy.

Do you think the sale of the Club will happen in the next few weeks? Cause we will be back in training by then and wanting to get any new players sorted plus ant players that are considering jumping ship will want to see stability and want to know who they will be answering to ASAP.

You see I think entirely the opposite to that

                      No takeover is imminent imo

Exactly... The phrase in Bascombe's article that says it all?

                              "club sources believe..."

Do they? They really seem to have their finger on the pulse, these club sources. More spin by the management... according to the press, this has been a premise of their pursuit of Hodgson all along; somehow Purslow thinks that Hodgson will unite the dressing room. why? Because Purslow wants an Englishman in there? He wants to do business with someone who speaks the language and will politely do what he's told? "Hey, if anyone can do it, it's Roy. He will unite the dressing room."

                              Will he, ****?

I have worked for people like this my whole life, you can see right through them; they believe their position protects them from scrutiny and that somehow common sense and other people's actual knowledge of what is required will be put aside because they know best.

I have nothing against Hodgson as a man other than to believe without seeing him manage my team that he is not what my club requires to make an ambitious push for titles. Purslow and Broughton, on the other hand, need to be removed from this team before their blinkered, bunkered "I know best" and "what does the press say about it?" mentality destroys the team. Yes, you know sponsorships deals and maybe you know how to sell off a debt-laden club with your rolodex of billionaires, but you know **** all about how to manage the footballing side of a football club. How is this happening?!?! Know-it-all Businessmen... the scourge of sport. **** me.

Can I ask this - Why all the hatred towards Christian Purslow? Whilst sacking Rafa whilst he was on holiday was I'll timed, other than that I fail to see what he has done wrong.

After Reading all this negativity towards him I am positive that I have missed something.
