This is the sport and entertainment business, where skill sets are unique and at an absolute premium. In this situation, the manager is not truly a subordinate to the Chairman, they are, in my mind, peers who are handling distinct parts of the business; they must work in concert to fulfill their distinct obligations and their responsibilities overlap in the area of transfers. Of course, the Chairman has the power to fire the manager, but his first responsibility is to the club and the performance on the pitch.

If it were me and I truly believed Rafa was not good enough to meet my expectations for success, why would I sign him to a contract extension? If he was not good enough in my mind, wouldn't I keep him until I had a sure fire replacement in hand who was a superior candidate? If I cared so much about the London press' opinion of the man, why would I give them more fuel by butchering the termination of the relationship in the press? Why would I not have a superior replacement in hand?

Anyone who sees clearly knows that letting Rafa go had nothing to do with one bad season, with Rafa's management performance and everything to do with personal feelings. That may be fine for a powerful business man with a fragile ego, but it is not good enough for this club. Like I said, I can understand that missing out on The Champions League after the dire football we played last season might warrant a firing; but the way it was handled indicates to me that this is all just an excuse to get the mouthy Spaniard out of there and strengthen the Chairman's position which, unfortunately, has absolutely nothing to do the success of the club.

And now I hear that he is going after the fans for their letter writing campaign by threatening to sue RAWK? Is this cunt totally tone deaf or just an idiot? He is killing himself, and that's pathetic to watch, but are we going to let him take the club down with him?

is it really abundandly clear that purslow is the snake in our paradise?
why would i believe sos' recollection of a meeting and dismiss purlow's?
why would i believe rafa's version of 'senior officals' who mob or boss him?
why would i believe without proof that purslow hasn't planned everything into detail including a fit and proper replacement for rafa?

i'm not starry-eyed but i'm refusing to lay the blame on someone just to add a face to the injustice and the evils in this world of lfc. just to have someone to vent my anger at.
everyone else seems to be sure we've identified the rat. who either wants to line his own pocket. or who's head's too big. who's high on power. you name it. oddly enough, that it's always the CEO...

Why would you believe our board that has been shown to be liars time after time over Rafa?
Why do you think he felt done over when he had a £-4m transfer budget last season?
Sorry but what on Earth makes you think that Purslow is an innocent party when every group suggests he really isn't.

if you cared to read my previous posts you'd realise that i actually don't believe anyone. i simply don't think it's as black and white, with one evil clown and a knight in shining armon.

and btw, just because some 'groups' believe purslow is the real culprit doesn't make it true now, does it? are you allowing yourself to be peer-pressured into believing something? just because bush, blair and the rest of the gang 'knew' saddam had his weapons of mass descruction didn't make it true either, did it?

              Latest bookies predictions.

Next England Manager Latest – Liverpool FC Target Roy Hodgson Favourite to Replace Fabio Capello as England Manager

Fulham manager front runner to take over from Italian as England boss

Liverpool target Roy Hodgson is the 6/5 favourite with Coral to be appointed the next England manager, should Fabio Capello be removed from his position.

The FA have said they will make a decision on Capello’s future in the next two weeks, but Coral clearly think that the Italian’s time as England boss is running out.

The firm's spokesman David Stevens told Bettingpro:

"England's dismal failure in South Africa will surely spell the end of Fabio Capello's reign as manager, and although the FA have said they require two weeks to consider his future, we reckon the game is up for the Italian. Two experienced English managers head the betting to replace Capello, and although Harry Redknapp would be a popular choice among many fans, we believe Roy Hodgson's success at guiding Fulham to the Europa League final last season puts him in pole position to fill the most coveted role in English management,"

              Next England Manager Betting

              6-5 R Hodgson, 3-1 H Redknapp, 5-1 G Hiddink, 8-1 M.O'Neill, 10-1 S Pearce,
              12-1 D Beckham, T Venables, 16-1 S Allardyce, 20-1 A Wenger, 33-1 J
              Klinsmann, P Scolari, G Houllier, 50-1 A Ferguson

NEXT LIVERPOOL MANAGER LATEST ODDS SHOW MANUEL PELLEGRINI STILL IN THE HUNT

doesn't look like Roy Hodgson has this one all wrapped up just yet, despite trading at a slim 1.64 price. Backers have retreated off of the Fulham manager at his current price and it looks like we can expect him to increase in price over the next few days unless there is any concrete evidence with him being offered the job soon.

Manuel Pellegrini had risen in price above 10.0 over the weekend and has now dropped down to 7.0 amidst fairly heavy betting volume. This see-saw nature of the Pellegrini/Hodgson horse-race continues to be the dominant narrative here. It still looks Hodgson's to win, mind.

Kenny Dalglish is definitely no longer in the running and his price has lifted to a very high 27.0. Martin O'Neill is trading at a massive 70.0 and the former favourite is very out of this one.

Jurgen Klinsmann is available at 34.0 to be named Next Liverpool Manager while Mark Hughes can be backed at 36.0

The interesting variable here is Fabio Capello's odds to be named Next Liverpool Manager. The Italian has question marks over his position as England manager but with such a high price to sack Capello, you have to assume that he will stay on. It should be noted that Capello has dropped in price to a 42.0 margin.

Didier Deschamps odds to be named Next Liverpool Manager are now at 38.0 after he distanced himself from the job. Frank Rijkaard is a name still being bandied about a little and you'll find him trading at 28.0- that's a sharp raise from where he was at in the earlier part of last weekend.

It looks like we still have a few more miles to go here in the Next Liverpool Manager betting market and if Manuel Pellegrini's price continues to drop- this could get very interesting.

Kenny should get the job already. He would bring so much to the table just by being our manager. Winning us the title again next season, it's the way things are meant to be!

Unbelieveable isn't it? We are 4 weeks away from Europa League campaign and we have still not selected a new manager...
