I would have thought most of the decent bosman's would have been arranged in January?

I'm keeping confident that we'll hold on to Reina, Torres and Gerrard but I can certainly see a squad curtailing exercise and would expect the most likely candidates to be Mascherano, Aquilani, Babel, Cavalieri, Degen and maybe Nemeth. I'd hope that could raise circa £60m and Mascherano aside, we could definitely match the impact that they've all made with a bunch of free's or nominal fee transfers.

Do you think the full amount would be used to re invest into the team? I am not convinced that we would see anymore than 40m re invested.

With the possibility of being out of any european competition coupled with the **** state we are in off the pitch i would be surprised to see us bring in players of any higher quality than those leaving.

As Lecter said I doubt very much that we'll see any substantial investment in the team, no matter how they dress it up for PR purposes. I know what Purslow said about the transfer kitty being comprised of profit and other transfer income but equally I'm sure that those funds would be diverted elsewhere if needed.

At least with that list of players (again, Mascher aside) none of them have done much to suggest that they'd be missed so replacing them wouldn't be too difficult.

rafa you twonk. grow a set of ****ing balls and make some big decisions.

drop the defensive set up and negative tactics you play with in the hope we dont get beat and go for a ****ing win every game. that means chosing either mash or lucas and playing aqua.....the man you signed to be the creative attacking threat.

no more bull**** about not wanting to change the tactics or personel in case things get worse.....they cant get any worse.

last night you took off half of the biggest threat last night in babel.....he ran his ****iong heart out chasing back and giving some much needed pace to our attacks.

torres and ste tried like **** last night and it must be so ****ing demoralising to have all the ability in the world to then be stifeld by your ****ign ****e tactics.

stop feeding fans **** about "we done the fans proud" and "it was a good reaction / performance" when every body bar yourself can see it was anything but a good performacne.

WE ARE LIVERPOOL FC. we should not be getting butt-****ed by teams like pompey / wigan / lille etc...

if we fail to get 4th then i'm sorry but i cant see us ever recovering. its that serious. people who say " but look at arsenal this year " dont seem to realise that the arsenal had a small fight for 4th and could have easily had 3rd. we are struggling to get 6th this year. For the love of god rafa change now or go from legend status for winning us CL to zero status for killing the club.
People who think there's no good way to die have obviously never heard the phrase 'Drug-fuelled-sex-heart-attack'.

not much i can say really - i 'sat' through the first half didn't really watch it - luckily i was playing 5 a side last night at 7pm, so off i went, really enjoyed 5 a side, first game in a few weeks cause i had fractured my wrist a few weeks ago. - came out, checked the score - was gobsmacked for oooh about 20 seconds that we'd lost - then went the pub and had a few pints.

if it was as a bad as it sounds, after the wigan game well that is just ****ing disgraceful

The problem is, the worse our situation gets, the more defensive Rafa will become. Good news for Lucas and Kuyt.

Short term, the playing/management side of things needs a new direction and some fresh ideas, so rafa needs to go. I dont like saying it, but the simple scenario now, is that all evidence says rafa can no longer make our team play to their capability, or anywhere near it.

I've said all along, if i knew it was only one season out of the CL, i'd grudgingly accept it, if it meant G&H ****ed off. I still feel that way.

I dont think the security of the club as a going concern is in doubt, because there'll always be willing buyers if RBS effectively repossess the club from under the yanks noses. I hope the £100m investment isnt found and i hope this ****s them up big time, to the point where they have no other option but to release the club.

My only fear with that, is they'll try to find the money in other ways, by selling people like Torres, Mascherano and Reina. The players could simply reject a move, but i dont want to be in the situation where we're relying on that.
ok so given we've had a shocking defensive underperformer at the start of the season in carra and a p1ss poor, leadership bereft captaincy from stevie g when he's been fit, why dont we get rid of the two of them and give rafa the funds?

those two 'local lads' have massively underperformed (against their usual standards and thus what we expect) far worse than anyone else. They have let rafa down with no leadership on the field - either by example or by instruction.

if they are on the pitch, others look to them for that leadership. if its not coming, then what do the others do? ignore them? it just doesnt work like in competitive team sport. leaders have to be leaders all of the time. not when they can be arsed.

                  They should be kicked out.

no chance. ste had been injured on and off all season so cant get a good run together. and even when he plays a few games back to back he hasnt got torres there and is basically needing to do everything himself. yes he hasnt been as good but he is still head and shoulders above the rest.

as for carra, he was hit but has come righ back into form of last few months. not top form but good form.

i feel sorry for them both having htis shower of pish we call our squad to -play with. they both deserve better. it is so demoralising to see so for them it must be 10 times as bad.

It wasn't as bad as Wigan - we had a 20 minute spell in the 1st half where we played quite well - but the 2nd half was a ****ing disgrace again. They hit the post in the last minute when it was easier to score. Should be two down.

aye i left just before half time so saw proabaly the best move we have done in months between babel and torres and really babel should have done better.

i am going monday - so don't want too - i fear there may be one hell of a backlash from the crowd if the players perform anything like they have been - a pompey win and there may well be riots

He spoke to LFC.tv, which he kind of has to.

Carra was fine but Gerrard is begining to piss me off. He was poor again last night. Now I know he wasn't the only one, and I am loath to single him out, but at times he looks like a stroppy child. At one point he didn't bother to try to reach a pass from Mascher, and didn't bother to turn round and acknowledge him either. His head is always down. At the very least if he is going to be like that he shouldn't be captain in my opinion. Because he is such a good player we expect more from him.
