I know he's not played much since we've signed him but I'm sure he will come good next year. This is an adjusting season for him, he's been out a long long time so we can't forget that. I trust Rafa to handle his situation properly and he will play him as and when he's ready.
Your dead right of course and the same has to be said of Patcheco its obvious that Rafa is protecting these players for the future imo.

I agree with you. But dont you think the other half of the money we had to spend on one of our only 2 big signings could have been spent more wisely?.. Rather than on an injured player thats going to take at least a season to bed in... and even then we dont know whether he'll prove himself worthy of the league.

I don't even see how this is relevant. Show me a manager of any of the 92 clubs in England that's not determined to win things. And if the requirement of a great manager is being passionate then Martin O'Neil is the worlds greatest manager.

Passion and determination are minimum requirements. Just like giving 100% is for a player.

Liverpool FC line up Birmingham City's McLeish as Benitez alternative

Liverpool are believed to be monitoring developments in Alex McLeish's contract talks with Birmingham City in the hope of installing him as their next manager, should Rafael Benitez leave the club.

This is where we'd disagree. I believe we've only had two and a half good seasons under him, one was the CL win and one the FA Cup. The season we finished second, was a bit of a disappointment. Many other managers with that team fit and firing would have won us the league by March.

Let's put that McLeish argument to one side for another day then. Or another season.
              One tit for another.

No one's is going to do better than Rafa. The sooner people realise this the better. This can seriously hinder your health.

                      Maybe, maybe not.
It's interesting to get peoples views though, especially from the staunch RCDNW crew.

There's never been a RCDNW brigade, you're all wrong in that. I am just espousing this club's values, which you all tend to forget.

Early days for him yet, although he's not looked good. It's been a disaster of a season for him.

BUT imagine he had came at the start of last season and come back from injury into our confident, attacking team of 12 months ago, I think things would have been very different for him.

He's largely been a victim of circumstance.
