I don't for a second believe that United don't have to worry about Kuyt. He's been effective in the past and while not in great form it is the sort of game he relishes.

Despite your claims I think that there is a pretty good chance that Maxi will play instead of Kuyt actually. I think it will be Mascherano and Lucas in the middle though.

When I say they don't have to worry about him, what I mean is a pacey, tricky winger will normally mean a team is already concerned and will make changes specifically to deal with it. I don't think Fergie will have a specific plan to deal with Kuyt.

I still think both will start.

no not easy but no impossible......we have done it before against utd starting at a very high tempo getting the goals and then closing the game down in midfield

I'm not sure it's even open for debate tbh. The Lille team will be the same with Benny replacing Maxi (imo) and the Utd team will be Lucas for Aquilani, Maxi on the left instead of Babel, Kuyt on the right and for what it's worth I think that is the right decision.

Evra bombs on so Kuyt needs to track him leaving amssive space for Torres to tear Vidic yet another arsehole.
Wonder what the odds are on Vidic being sent off 3 games in a row.

I have to give a mention to Babel, Last night he played the best football I have ever seen him play. He actually looked up when he had the ball, He kept it simple, He got into good spaces and he defended. If he could just keep it simple and play the pass that is on instead of trying the impossible, He could be a great player for us. School Report: Well done Ryan, Keep it up.

Id rather not risk it. One miss timed pass while pushin players forward and they'll make us pay for it.... Or rather Rooney would make us pay for it.

Seems we'll just have to agree to disagree. Just have to see how the game pans out and whether the 2 defensive midfielders was the way to go approach it.

I fully expect Lucas to start against the mancs, and he'll have a good performance there because he won't see much of the ball anyway.

I saw a dead fish on the pavement and thought "what did you expect?"

Babel is playing for a WC place. Play him at OT - Utd are weak defensively at RB

Alberto Aquilani spoke of his pride after scoring his first Liverpool goal at the Kop end in a 4-1 win over Portsmouth.

The Italy international marked his first Barclays Premier League 90 minutes with a neatly-taken strike in front of the famous stand.

Speaking to Liverpoolfc.tv down the tunnel afterwards, Aquilani said: "I feel really good because I've scored my first goal after a really long time. I'm also really happy because of the result - we needed that.

"The goal is even more special because I scored it in front of the Kop. I said when I arrived in Liverpool that I wanted to score in front of the Kop and that moment has arrived.

"I think I will find it hard to sleep tonight, especially as I've also played 90 minutes.

"I think I played well but I have to take it step by step. Today was a good day and now we look to the next game."

and there is all the amunition rafa will need to drop aqua back to the bench..........he'll need rested as he is tired.

forgetting the fact that torres came back from knee surgery and plays full games, gerard came back from injry and plays full games, johnson comes back from injury and gets in the team straight away.........aqua is still getting over his operation 12 months ago - 90 mins of football will have tired him out enough for rafa to drop him to the bench for another month.

Hard to believe he is 6ft 1 - taller than SG - looks small on tv in any case. If he piled on a few pounds he could be very good.
