i think we should drop Riena he hasnt scored enough goals for me
Seriously though a few points rattling round my head.
Kuyt Not sure he is good enough if we are to win the league but there is not point not playing him if we dont have better.
i would argue one reason why he is picked alot is his fitness. hecan run and run and we know rafa looks of the fitness of players before every game. that might by why he plays more often just because he can.
Babel one mate any time babel does something ok likes to tell me i am wrong about him and how is now a world beater. i remind him we have been here before and in a liverpool shirt he is not. i dont doubt he has most of the ingredients to be top drawer but i dont think it will happen at liverpool.

oh and nearly forgot my thoughts on aqua man
its too early to tell yet. he wqas injured and has had to be eased into things. if we had been winning like last season i think he would have been introduced a bit earlier and more often from what i have seen his passing is crisp not totally sure if its accurate enough yet and whether he can cut it in our league. only time will tell but we gain nothing by getting him injured. he moves into space alot and the team needs to get used to utilise this space.

Does noone remember Alonso really strugling with his form and passing when coming back from long-term injury? Considering he was already acclimatised to English football and playing in our midfield and still struggled, it puts the task that faced Aquilani into perspective for me.
From what I can tell, after seeing him struggle in his first few games, Rafas kept him on the bench to gain some fitness in training first and he looks much better for it. As other peeps said though he needs to do it against better sidesSack swinging like Dub-D40 on a door hinge

That is actually a very good point well made. It seems obvious now but I hadn't thought of the parallels.Originally posted by wiw View PostDoes noone remember Alonso really strugling with his form and passing when coming back from long-term injury? Are you? I'm not.Originally posted by The Erectile Banana View PostI'm amazed that some posters are bigging up Aquilani as one of Europe's great midfield lynchpins after one good performance.
.
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
May the Lord bless this post.

Fecks sake..Originally posted by Armchairkopite View PostYou have to laugh at the brainless ****ers in here writing him off before last nights game though.
And all this, Why wasn't he playing ****e is tiresome.
Who ****ing signed him numb nuts?
Just because Rafa was being over cautious with him people think that Rafa bought him to sit on the bench lol.
He had a long overdue good game against a bottom of the table team and now he's off for probably another 6 months with the ****s.
He needs to produce that sort of form week in week out before we start praising the genius signing.

His goal record is hardly prolific is it and its no wonder he's up there at the club as he's probably played more minutes since his arrival than anyone else by far. Don't let the facts get in the way eh?Originally posted by Mattshark View PostAnd plays a different role. Which people seem to completely ignore on top of the ignorant **** they put about his passing.
As for Kuyt and the **** about him on here, would like to point out how many vital goals he has gotten in big games and is the second highest scoring player in our team, can't let facts get in the way though can we.
The fact is as a winger he has no pace, no trickery and cannot beat a man, useful attributes out wide.
BTW I don't think Kuyt is a ****e footballer, I just think he's useless winger. If Rafa were to play him upfront I'm sure he'd do alright, but he persists in sticking him out wide for almost every bloody game, regardless of how **** the opposition are.
As for Lucas, again, average player, he's had one or two decent games, but then everone does, doesn't make him superb. Again, not his fault that Rafa persists in playing him alongside Mascher, one or the other alongside Gerrard would be my choice everytime.Last edited by Taxi; 17-03-10, 09:52 PM.Play Ball!!!!!!!

I like Dirky and i wouldnt sell him. He makes an impact regularly enough to be worth his place and the workrate and attitude goes without saying.
But he shouldnt be undroppable and i'd love to have an alternative option for wide right. Dirk's the more solid, hardworking type. I'd like to be able to pick a quick, skillful tricky type, who beats a man too, from time to time. You cant rely on the same type of play/player for every single game. Different circumstances will require different attributes in players.
