It was probably a free kick, absolutely no way was it a penalty. Mascherano wasn't the last man so your suggestion that it was a sending off couldn't be more wrong.

Ferguson said that Carragher was 'too slow' to prevent the 'quick' Valencia shooting. Cunt.

Guys, how do you react to taunts from manc friends? I'm really in a bad mood and I feel that someone is going to feel the brunt of it today. Do you normally tell them to **** off?

never a penalty. but masher did deny him a goalscoring chance which by the law would have been a sending off.

Not so sure mate, Carra was getting across - and given Valencia's shooting, i'm not sure how clear cut a chance it would've been anyway.

On TalkSport, Poll (Graham) said that Mascherano cynically stopped tugging Valencia as he got to the white line and therefore shouldn't have been a pnalty, however justice may have been done!

Poll also said it wasn't a red card incident

It's ironic, but since Graham Poll stopped being a ref, he's started getting decisions right.

The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I didn't see a bad ref thread when we won at Old Trafford last season..
Well, the thread was about Howard Webb, not some random referee. There were no decisions as bad as several yesterday in last season's game. Webb wasn't the ref at that game either so why would there be comments about it?

                              Honestly?

The one last season was a tough decision where it wasn't clear from all angles what had happened.

Today, almost everyone i was sat with said penalty as their first reaction. So again not a criminal decision.

Presumably it'll all come out eventually though, like Italy.
The point is that the foul was committed outside the box yesterday. The linesman - in a good position - didn't flag when Mascherano pulled him, Webb was behind play and so in no position to give a pen. The linesman only flagged when Valencia decided to throw himself theatrically to the floor inside the box after he'd been pulled back outside the box.

So like last season, Webb made a rash decision which, as in yesterday's incident was the wrong decision

                                I'm talking about in general.

There has been many a time when a bad decision has gone in our favour but we never seem to slate the ref.

Whenever we lose at Old Trafford it seems to be the refs fault and if we win, then it's beacuse we were the better team.
