And who will fill Gerrards boots ? certainly not anyone from our pathetic reserve /youth teams .....and who's going to come to the club knowing we have just sold one of our greatest players......with the club in crisis on and of the pitch .....we haven't had any players who can match gerrard come through the ranks and i doubt very much rafa will get that much money to spend considering we don't look like qulalfying for the champs league

Do you think Arsenal thought the same? "Oooh, who will ever join us knowing we've just sold Thierry Henry?"Originally posted by Bender View PostAnd who will fill Gerrards boots ? certainly not anyone from our pathetic reserve /youth teams .....and who's going to come to the club knowing we have just sold one of our greatest players......with the club in crisis on and of the pitch .....we haven't had any players who can match gerrard come through the ranks and i doubt very much rafa will get that much money to spend considering we don't look like qulalfying for the champs league
It's bull****. We are Liverpool FC, much bigger and more important than Steven Gerrard will ever be and we will survive when he' s gone.
I'm not going to start a campaign to sell him but if we get crazy money it'd be foolish to not even consider it. Liverpool FC will be here long after Gerrard's gone. Get over it fanboi. Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

Do you actually think that it's good quoting Jamie of all people ****ing Redknapp?Originally posted by red g View PostThe Liverpool captain, for one, has failed to find his best form this season and his body language at times has suggested all is not well.
Against United he was a peripheral figure for long periods and in the latter stages, as Benitez threw on Alberto Aquilani and Yossi Benayoun in an attempt to salvage a point, he was moved around the pitch.
That, according to former team-mate and close friend Jamie Redknapp, will not have impressed the England international.
"Don't get me wrong, Steven Gerrard was not at his best again, but he's hardly being given the platform by his manager," Redknapp wrote in the Daily Mail. "I'm not sure if Stevie played in three, or was it four different positions against United.
"That's no way to treat your best players. Give him a platform, trust him with the role and watch him play. It's not as if he hasn't proved that before."
He just talks out of his arse. Gerrard flourished into a world class player under Rafa.

I know, Redknapp FFS. He virtually campaigned to get his mate back into centre-midfield when he was playing on the right. Then Rafa moved him up front and Redknapp mysteriously went quiet. I remember later a game when SG had to be deployed deeper in CM alongside Masher, and Redknapp, hilariously, complained about Benitez not playing him in his preferred position behind Torres

The guy is a total bellend, no credibility whatsoever. Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

No player is bigger than the club, and in the same light, no manager is bigger than the club.
It is Rafa's team, he is meant to be the motivator, but he is so defensive that he is destroying the very core of Liverpool Football Club.
It is not only Gerrard who is having a poor season - let's remember that. There have been way too many mediocre to dreadful performances by others.
In my humble opinion you don't just lose it. Gerrard is going through a tough time and Rafa's tactics have not helped....... as a manager you play to your strengths - we don't!
For me Gerrard has to stay and Rafa has to go.
Stevie will flourish again under a manager that allows him and the team to actually play rather than have 9 players behind the ball for 88 minutes of the match!

We are Liverpool fc ? i'd be more worried where the club is going rather than gerrard .......give me some suggestions as to who would replace gerrad and with what money ? easy to say sell him but with who......huge difference as to where arsenal are how they play compared to where we are and how we play well we don't really play football

You don't need to replace him, others will step into the void.Originally posted by Bender View Post

Why the **** should I make suggestions for a replacement? That's not my job.Originally posted by Bender View Post

Who would you have suggested replaced Henry? Eh? EH? They replaced him with pretty much nobody and now look at them.
For what it's worth, I'd take a punt on Hamsik but it's not my job and my opinion is worthless. Unlike you I won't be sitting here blubbing if and when Gerrard leaves. No player is bigger than the club, you seem to disagree. Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

The difference is, the others who sold big names, did it at a time when their clubs were winning and challenging for titles every season. There was a massive mental strength and confidence in those clubs, with the knowledge that they were at the top, and full of quality throughout, enabling them to lose a big name and carry on performing.Originally posted by Shaggy View PostDo you think Arsenal thought the same? Think about that - and then look at us, and ask yourself if it's the same.

I have no intrest in the Arsenal/Henry thing .....you mentioned it......and you say why should you mention a replacement ? because your up for selling Gerrard .....and try to keep the swearing out ......i haven't sworn at you so there's no need for it from you...as for no player being bigger than the club ....same can be said for the manager.....we need to keep our star players not sell them and hope the newbies can do the biz....you think Lfc has the same pull without gerrard i don'tOriginally posted by Shaggy View PostWhy the **** should I make suggestions for a replacement?
